6upbankroll Is Building More Than Music—It’s a Movement

6upbankroll’s story starts on the 400 block of Southeast Washington, D.C., where life moves fast and lessons come early. Growing up as one of five kids in a crowded household, he experienced a childhood that felt familiar to many—full of energy, pressure, and the constant search for something more. D.C. gave him both beauty and reality at the same time. It was a city filled with culture and life, but also one where it was easy to get stuck in cycles where being the best on the block felt like the highest level of success.

For 6upbankroll, that mindset never sat right. Early on, sports became his first outlet. It gave him structure and introduced the idea of becoming something bigger than what he had seen around him. But everything really started to shift around the age of 13, when he found his circle. That’s when the idea of “Bankroll” was born—not just as a name, but as a mindset. It stood for ambition, growth, and chasing something greater.

Music wasn’t always the plan. Like a lot of people around him, freestyling was just something that happened in the moment. He wasn’t focused on recording at first, even though he had people close to him already stepping into that lane, including TheBankrollDon and his brother 1upskoo. He was more of a motivator, pushing others to take their craft seriously. One of those people was his friend Nero, someone who would end up changing everything.

While 6upbankroll was in college trying to figure out his path, Nero was already building momentum, gaining views and creating a buzz of his own. But their relationship went both ways—while 6upbankroll encouraged Nero to keep going, Nero pushed him right back, telling him to step into music himself. After Nero’s passing, that message stuck. It became bigger than just an idea. It became a reason.

That’s when things turned. He dropped his first song, “Locked In,” with TheBankrollDon, and from that moment, the direction shifted. What started as support for others became a personal pursuit. Now, “Bankroll” is growing into more than just a mindset—it’s becoming a label, a movement, and a vision centered around chasing a million-dollar dream.

His sound reflects that journey. He describes it as stoner music, with a mix of uptempo production and a naturally mellow delivery. There’s a balance in it—laid-back but intentional. His focus isn’t just on his own story, but on expressing emotions and experiences that others can connect to as well. The goal is simple: create music that lets people feel something, even if they didn’t know how to put it into words themselves.

Most of his current music has been recorded with TenKay Productions, along with work from Game6Production, as he continues to experiment and search for the sound that fully defines him. His process is still evolving, and that openness is part of what keeps his music honest.

In D.C., his time was spent outside more than anywhere else—local rec centers, neighborhoods, and the everyday environment that shaped his perspective. It’s a city that stays with you, and that influence shows up in his music.

His latest release, the visual “B.O.S (Brothers Of The Struggle),” offers a glimpse into what’s coming next. The track will appear on his upcoming mixtape Never Fear Loses, a 7-to-8 track project focused on growth, versatility, and showing different sides of who he is as an artist.

Through it all, 6upbankroll stays grounded in what matters most. He credits his family, his faith, and his team—The Bankroll Empire, BigHomieKellz, and TheBankrollDon—for being part of the journey. And just as importantly, he gives credit to himself for believing and taking the step to try.
