UvaUvv Tells His Bay Area Story on #CITYBOY

UvaUvv is an artist shaped by movement, experience, and the full spectrum of the Bay Area. Raised by young parents and supported by a larger village that stepped in when needed, his upbringing gave him both freedom and structure. Growing up meant relocating often, and that constant motion taught him how to navigate different cities, read rooms, and build genuine relationships wherever he landed. While San Francisco remains the root of his foundation, UvaUvv identifies with the Bay Area as a whole, pulling influence, attitude, and perspective from every corner of it.

His journey into music began at 14, driven by curiosity and hunger rather than a clear plan. With nothing more than a MacBook and GarageBand, he started recording and refining his voice. By the time he reached ninth grade, he was already burning CDs and circulating his music through Bay Area high schools, building a local reputation without realizing how far it could go. At that stage, music was still a passion project, but the response he received planted the idea that this could be something bigger.

While UvaUvv studied hip-hop legends from across the country, his real motivation came from closer to home. Artists like Mac Dre and the Mob Figaz showed him that success was possible coming out of the Bay, but it was watching peers such as Turf Starz and Main Attrakionz make real moves in real time that pushed him forward. Seeing people from his own environment turn ambition into action made the dream tangible and lit the fire to compete at a higher level.

Over time, UvaUvv carved out a sound that reflects both discipline and fearlessness. He treats his voice like an instrument, constantly experimenting and refining how he delivers records. Versatility is central to his approach, allowing him to shift styles without losing identity. No matter the direction, listeners can expect polished, hard-hitting production paired with focused, sharp lyricism that cuts through cleanly.

Independence has become a major part of his process. Investing in himself early, UvaUvv built a home recording setup where he now records and engineers his own music. Learning the technical side wasn’t optional—it was necessary. By mastering the tools himself, he removed reliance on outside help and gained full control over his sound, workflow, and vision. That self-sufficiency continues to define how he moves as an artist.

His story is deeply tied to the Bay Area itself. San Francisco, Oakland, and Richmond weren’t just places he passed through; they were the environments that shaped his outlook and resilience. Those cities taught him respect, awareness, and how to move with intention. The culture, energy, and unspoken rules of those streets continue to fuel his creative drive.

UvaUvv’s most recent release, #CITYBOY, dropped on September 1, 2025, and stands as his most personal project to date. The album documents his battle with alcohol abuse and the process of pulling himself back from the edge after nearly losing everything. It’s honest, unfiltered, and grounded in survival, capturing the weight of struggle while highlighting growth and redemption.

Looking ahead, UvaUvv is preparing to release GLITCH, a project centered on energy, competition, and homage. Designed to celebrate the Bay Area sound, the record serves as both a statement and a release of creative pressure. It allows him to push boundaries while honoring the roots that built him, showing his range as an artist who refuses to stay boxed in.

Throughout his journey, UvaUvv keeps his gratitude close. He credits his family above all else, emphasizing that he doesn’t move with a circle—he moves with family. The people around him aren’t supporters from a distance; they’re part of the movement itself. Everything he’s building is rooted in loyalty, shared pride, and the goal of making everyone who stood by him proud.
