Born into a military family, iLL Chris spent parts of his early life moving between places like Fort Sill and Newport News, Virginia. Growing up, he was heavily influenced by 1990s hip-hop, a sound he discovered through his older brother. Those early influences helped shape his approach to music and his passion for rap.
