Lance Prince comes out of Montville, New Jersey with a foundation built on discipline, creativity, and quiet resilience. Raised in a structured household, he was introduced to music almost as soon as he could walk. His mother, a Juilliard graduate, began teaching him piano at just three years old. By the time he reached fourth grade, he had picked up the saxophone and stayed with it through high school. His upbringing was never idle—his parents kept him involved in music, sports, art, and martial arts, always pushing him to grow and sharpen his abilities.
But behind that structure was a more personal reality. Lance often felt like an outsider growing up. In high school, there were days he would search for empty classrooms just to avoid sitting alone at lunch. That sense of isolation stuck with him, but instead of breaking him, it became fuel. It pushed him to build confidence, to develop skills, and to become someone who couldn’t be overlooked.
That mindset carried over into other parts of his life. Martial arts and bodybuilding became central to who he was. Starting Taekwondo in fourth grade, he later expanded into karate and jiu-jitsu. Before finishing high school, he had already competed in three bodybuilding shows. By 19, he stepped into his first paid MMA fight in Atlantic City, followed by a kickboxing bout on another pay-per-view card. The discipline, pressure, and mental strength from those experiences shaped not only how he moves, but how he creates.
Music came into focus later, but when it did, it became essential. At 17, during the stillness of the COVID lockdown in April 2020, Lance found himself laying on his bedroom floor, listening deeply to albums and sitting with his thoughts. That moment shifted everything. Music stopped being something he admired from a distance and became something he needed to make for himself.
Inspired by artists like J. Cole, Mac Miller, and Travis Scott, Lance began to shape his own sound. It’s atmospheric, emotional, and immersive—music that feels like stepping into a space rather than just hearing a song. There’s a balance in it: melodic and expansive, yet still personal and reflective. His records carry a sense of mood and intention, blending cinematic energy with real emotion underneath.
Much of that sound is built from a personal space. Lance records most of his music in his own room, handling the process himself as an engineer. With production from Prd. ELYSIAN and collaboration from engineer Dan-0 on mixing and mastering, his music is crafted hands-on from start to finish. It’s a process rooted in control, detail, and vision.
Growing up in New Jersey, he also found moments of escape in places that felt like hidden gems. One of those spots was near Eagle Rock Reservation, a lowkey area he and his friends called Garrett Mountain. With a clear view of the city, it became a place to think, to breathe, and to live in the moment—memories that still stay with him.
Now, Lance Prince is focused on building his world through music. His latest release, “Crash Out Szn,” represents a piece of that vision, carrying the energy and emotion he’s developed over time. While more music is on the way, he’s intentional about giving each project its moment, making sure it lands the way it’s meant to.
Through it all, he remains grounded in the people who helped him along the way. He credits his family, his team, and every supporter who believed in him early. For Lance Prince, the journey is about more than just music—it’s about growth, discipline, and turning every experience, good or bad, into something meaningful.
