Born in Long Beach, California but raised in Compton, Guy Lewis carries the spirit of both cities in his music. Growing up in a single-parent household alongside his older brother, he learned early about resilience and determination. His mother’s hustler mentality helped shape his outlook on life. She always reminded them to never settle for less and to rely on faith above all else. Those lessons would later become part of the foundation behind his music and work ethic.
Lewis first found his love for music at the age of 15. Like many young artists, it started with simple backseat freestyles and writing lyrics whenever inspiration hit. Even though the passion started early, he didn’t record his first official record until 2015. That same year, he began building his own home studio — a move that allowed him to stay hands-on with his craft and fully control his sound.
Growing up, Lewis was heavily influenced by some of hip-hop’s most respected voices. Artists like 2Pac, 50 Cent, The Game, and Nas helped shape his perspective on storytelling and lyricism. Those influences are clear in the way he describes his own style — a strong West Coast vibe mixed with a New York state of mind.
Much of the music Guy Lewis has released so far has been recorded in the studio he built himself. Recording independently allows him to stay creative without limitations. While he often engineers his own sessions, he’s always open to collaborating with producers and other artists when the moment feels right.
His childhood memories are deeply tied to the streets of Southern California. Moving back and forth between Compton and Long Beach, Lewis remembers the city itself feeling like a playground. From Rosecrans to the east side of Long Beach, wherever he and his friends landed for the day became the place to be.
Today, Guy Lewis continues to push his sound forward. His newest single, “Seen It All,” produced by Kwriggs, delivers a true West Coast feel while reflecting on the life experiences that shaped him. The track stands as a reminder that his journey has been built on lessons learned through both struggle and growth.
Looking ahead, Lewis is preparing to release a new project titled “Should’ve Known,” which promises to give listeners a deeper look into his perspective and artistry.
