Coming out of Fresno, California, and now based in Pismo Beach, the artist known as SEDATED has built his sound from a mix of isolation, influence, and raw life experience. His music carries a melodic yet melancholic tone—something that traces all the way back to his early years.
As a kid, SEDATED kept to himself. He describes his childhood as withdrawn, often disconnected from school and rarely at home due to constant tension between his parents. Instead, he found comfort elsewhere—usually at his close friend DURELL’s house. That’s where time was spent making music, experimenting with sounds, and escaping everything going on at home. Those moments would quietly shape the foundation of his future.
Music entered his life early. At just 12 years old, SEDATED began making beats, and by 13 he was already recording. A major influence came from within his own family—his uncle, a guitarist in multiple bands, showed him what was possible. With that inspiration, and the mindset of “if he could do it, I could too,” SEDATED was introduced to FL Studio. From that point on, everything changed. Around the same time, he connected with DURELL, who would become both a close collaborator and a key part of his journey.
His influences stretch across genres, helping shape a sound that doesn’t fit into one box. From underground names to alternative and ambient acts, SEDATED pulls from a wide range—blending emotion, atmosphere, and rhythm into something uniquely his own. The result is a style that feels both personal and immersive.
As he continued to grow, so did his creative spaces. Much of his music has been recorded in his home studio, “ThaRedRoom,” a place where his ideas come to life. Outside of that, he’s spent time recording in Los Angeles alongside his extended circle—DROID and SX00BY, collaborators and members of the collective AXIOM. Together, they’ve helped push each other creatively while building a strong foundation as a team.
Growing up, one of the main hangout spots for SEDATED and his friends was a nature area known as Perrin Road. It was a place to get away, to create memories, and just be free. Over time, it took on a deeper meaning. After the tragic loss of his brother in an accident at that same location two years ago, Perrin Road became something more—a place tied to memory, reflection, and legacy. Today, it stands as a reminder that those moments, and his brother’s presence, live on.
Despite setbacks, including losing his equipment and laptop at one point, SEDATED has continued pushing forward. His most recent release, NIGHTSB4VAMP!, serves as a prelude to what’s next—a project built from recovered ideas and unfinished work that still carries his signature sound.
Now, he’s focused on his upcoming album, YearOfThaVamp, a project he’s spent the past two years developing. Described as a full body of work, the album is expected to feature around 20 tracks and a surprise collaboration he’s kept under wraps. Alongside that, he’s also preparing a joint EP with DROID and SX00BY, continuing to build momentum with his AXIOM family.
Through every phase of his journey, SEDATED has remained connected to the people who helped shape him. He credits his team—DURELL, DROID, SX00BY, JI Beats, Mekhai, K4DE, Sxrrxw, and Lifted Broadcasting Network—as well as his uncle Cody, for playing important roles in his growth.
