A Masterclass in Hip-Hop: Deante’ Hitchcock’s “Junkie In The Sun”

Atlanta’s own Deante’ Hitchcock is back with a powerful new statement piece. Following the momentum of his three-song EP Paper N Power, released at the end of February 2026, Hitchcock returns with Junkie In The Sun, a full 15-track album that expands on the ideas and energy he introduced earlier this year. The project also includes the three songs that originally appeared on the EP, giving listeners a complete body of work that feels intentional from start to finish.

Widely regarded as one of the most talented artists in today’s hip-hop landscape, Deante’ Hitchcock continues to separate himself through his storytelling, unique flow patterns, and unmistakable cadence. His music isn’t built around trends. Instead, he focuses on creating records with purpose, substance, and lasting impact.

The album’s visual identity was brought to life by Jaiye, whose cover art helps capture the spirit of the project. Behind the scenes, executive producer Brandon Phillips-Taylor played a major role in helping turn Hitchcock’s vision into reality. Engineering duties were handled by LEALE, while Christopher Patterson remained a key part of the team supporting the project throughout its creation.

Junkie In The Sun features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Samara Cyn, 6lack, Childish Major, Anna Field, and J. Wes. Each guest contributes to the album’s depth while allowing Hitchcock’s vision to remain front and center.

Several standout records help define the project, including “Mr. Green Eyes,” “Gotta Be More,” “Smile You’re On Camera,” “Reminders,” and “U-N-I.” Together, they showcase the range, honesty, and craftsmanship that have become trademarks of Hitchcock’s catalog.

Special thanks were also extended to Tevaar Smith, 195 Oak The Label, and Next Records for their platform, contributions and support.
