The Sound of Authenticity: Inside the World of Unspokenviews

Growing up in Fullerton, California, Unspokenviews always knew her story was a little different. While she is grateful for the guidance she received from her mother during her early years, much of her childhood and adolescence was spent being raised by her grandmother in Orange County.

Her grandmother, originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, brought Southern roots, culture, and wisdom into her life. That unique blend of California upbringing and Louisiana family values helped shape the person and artist she would become. Like many young people searching for their identity, Unspokenviews spent years figuring out what those influences meant for her.

As a child, she describes herself as loud, obnoxious, and always full of energy. Fortunately, she was also funny enough to make it work in her favor. Through it all, her grandmother remained a constant source of support, making sure she had everything she needed while providing the love, guidance, and encouragement necessary to navigate life’s challenges.

Even though her childhood came with obstacles, she looks back on those years with gratitude. Her grandmother’s unwavering presence turned difficult moments into lessons and gave her memories she can now reflect on with happiness.

Music entered her life early.

Around the age of 11 or 12, Unspokenviews began writing songs and experimenting with rap. She still remembers the first rap she ever wrote on her own. It was over Beyoncé’s “Hollywood” featuring Jay-Z, and by her own admission, it was filled with stories about things she didn’t actually have.

That early moment would lead to one of the most important lessons of her career.

A man her grandmother was dating at the time listened to her rap and saw potential. He told her she had flow and understood how to structure a song, but he also challenged her to be honest in her music. Instead of rapping about possessions and lifestyles she hadn’t experienced, he encouraged her to write from a place of authenticity.

That conversation changed everything.

It taught her that great music doesn’t require pretending to be someone you’re not. The most powerful songs come from truth, and that lesson continues to shape her songwriting today. Looking back, she remains grateful that someone recognized her talent early enough to help steer her in the right direction.

As an artist, Unspokenviews draws inspiration from a wide range of musical legends. Her influences include Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, A Tribe Called Quest, MC Lyte, Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, Eve, and Lauryn Hill.

Each artist contributed something different to her creative development. MC Lyte’s approach to lyricism stood out because she never limited herself to being viewed strictly through a female perspective. Instead, she approached the microphone simply as a rapper, and that perspective inspired Unspokenviews to focus on strong writing and sharp lyricism.

Lil Wayne’s wordplay had a similar impact. His ability to bend language and create memorable bars showed her how creative songwriting could be. Together, these influences taught her an important lesson: there is no right or wrong way to create art. There is only your way.

That mindset remains at the core of everything she creates.

When asked to describe her sound, Unspokenviews calls it “sultry and vibey.” Her catalog covers a variety of moods and emotions, but the common thread is an easy-listening experience that feels refreshing and genuine. Whether she’s delivering thoughtful lyrics or creating a laid-back atmosphere, her music is designed to connect naturally with listeners.

Today, she records most of her music from her home studio. Having a creative space of her own has become one of her greatest blessings. It allows her to create whenever inspiration strikes while providing the peace and comfort necessary to fully immerse herself in her craft.

Outside of music, many of her favorite childhood memories are tied to the local spots that helped define her upbringing in Fullerton. She fondly remembers visiting Camelot with her grandmother, spending afternoons playing miniature golf and enjoying the arcade. Joe’s Market was another familiar gathering place where she and her friends would meet before or after school to grab snacks and spend time together.

She also cherished visits to one of her favorite aunt’s homes, where music was always playing. Those moments introduced her to countless genres and artists, further expanding her musical horizons and helping shape the diverse influences that can still be heard in her work today.

As she continues to evolve as an artist, Unspokenviews remains focused on creating meaningful music while staying true to herself. Her latest release, “Time Today,” is available now on all streaming platforms and showcases the authentic approach that has guided her career from the very beginning.

Looking ahead, fans can expect even more from the Fullerton artist. She is currently preparing for the release of her upcoming album, New Sound Of The West, scheduled to arrive later in 2026.

As for the people who have supported her journey, Unspokenviews is deeply grateful. From fans who attend shows and stream her music to collaborators, creatives, and supporters who offer encouragement along the way, she recognizes the role they have all played in her growth.

She gives special appreciation to every member of the MUVMENT, whose belief and support continue to fuel her passion. Their encouragement serves as a reminder that while music may begin as a personal expression, the community built around it is what makes the journey truly worthwhile.
