Growing up on both the west and east sides of Los Angeles, California, RAEEMONEY aka Tha Hood Rocc$tar discovered her love for music at an early age. She was raised in a family where music was always present. Her grandmother encouraged her creativity by buying her different musical instruments, while her mother was always singing around the house. She also knew her father had a natural voice, making music something that always felt like home.
As a child, RAEEMONEY wasn’t afraid to perform. She appeared in school plays while attending La Salle Elementary and later showcased her talent at Bret Harte Middle School. One of her biggest early moments came when she performed “Apologize” by OneRepublic and Timbaland in the school’s talent show. Although she had to leave school a few days before the winner was announced, the experience only strengthened her confidence as a performer.
After moving on to Marina Del Rey, her focus expanded beyond music. She developed a passion for basketball and sports while also learning how to DJ on turntables and taking photography classes. Even with so many creative outlets, music remained the one thing that always stayed close to her heart.
Everything changed when tragedy struck. At just 13 years old, RAEEMONEY lost her father, followed by the passing of her brother. During one of the hardest periods of her life, music became more than just a passion—it became therapy. Writing and recording gave her a place to express her emotions, helping her cope and find peace through every chapter of her journey.
Growing up, she found inspiration in artists like J.I The Prince of N.Y., Kanye West, and The OMG Girlz. While she originally loved singing, those influences inspired her to step into rap and develop a style of her own. Today, she describes her sound as versatile and emotional. While listeners often compare her to artists like Dej Loaf and Azjah, RAEEMONEY believes her voice and delivery are unique, allowing listeners to genuinely feel every emotion behind her lyrics.
Her grind has never depended on expensive equipment or major studios. Much of the music available today was recorded directly on her phone or inside a home studio she built herself. She also takes pride in mastering her own records, proving that determination and consistency can outweigh any limitation.
Outside of music, RAEEMONEY enjoyed spending time with family and making memories around Los Angeles. Whether she was at GoKart World, Dave & Buster’s, or simply hanging out at her auntie’s or grandmother’s house surrounded by relatives, those moments helped shape the person she is today.
Her latest release, “Shake,” featuring her cousin Lil Tra, was created from pure chemistry and creativity. The record was freestyled together in the backyard, capturing the fun and authentic energy they shared in the moment. Looking ahead, she has plenty of unreleased music waiting in the vault and is already preparing to release a full project once “Shake” has had its time to grow.
As her journey continues, RAEEMONEY gives thanks to everyone who has believed in her vision. She sends a special shoutout to her manager, Young Maestro, her mother, and her entire family for always supporting her dream. Most importantly, she honors her father, brother, and the loved ones she has lost, whose memories continue to inspire her every time she steps behind the microphone.
