Coming out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jus O is one of the most talented up and coming artist out the city.
His journey into music started around the age of 14, following the passing of his father. During a difficult time in his life, music became more than just something he listened to. It became an outlet. Outside of sports, it gave Jus O a place to express himself and let out feelings he had been carrying.
Growing up, Jus O was heavily influenced by some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., Dipset, J. Cole, and Drake. Those influences helped shape his appreciation for storytelling, lyricism, and making music that comes from a real place.
Philadelphia also played a major role in his development. Jus O spent plenty of time throughout the city, from the nightlife at different clubs and bars to the local recreation centers where he was still chasing his hoop dreams. Those experiences gave him a firsthand connection to different sides of the city and the people who make it what it is.
As his passion for music continued to grow, Jus O began recording at different studios throughout Philadelphia. Sound Gallery, MilkBoy, and Breed Studio are among the places where much of his music has been recorded, helping him turn the experiences around him into songs.
When it comes to his sound, Jus O describes it as honest, street-rooted East Coast hip-hop that blends sharp storytelling with introspection, soulful production, and a genuine sense of vulnerability. His music doesn’t shy away from the real moments. Instead, he uses them to tell his story and give listeners something they can connect with.
That journey has led to his latest project, What It’s Worth. The recently released album is another step forward for Jus O, featuring standout appearances from Kur and Big Ooh while giving listeners a deeper look into his sound and perspective.
But Jus O knows the journey hasn’t been his alone.
He gives credit to his producers, Bizzness Music and Figure Four Frank, along with his manager Tiara Purnell and close friends Asante, Durell, Dallas, Nadir, and many others who have played a role in bringing the music together. Whether it was listening to drafts, helping with sequencing, or simply being there throughout the process, that support has been an important part of the journey.
