Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, FattMack’s story is rooted in family, music, football, and the experiences that shaped him along the way. Growing up in different parts of Mobile, he was the middle child of three brothers, finding his own identity while navigating his environment.
Music was already a part of his life at an early age. FattMack attended church every Sunday with his grandmother and became the lead singer in the choir. That experience gave him an early foundation in music and helped develop the confidence and ability to perform that would later become a major part of his career.
Before music became his main focus, football was another important part of his life. FattMack played middle linebacker through the 8th grade. After stepping away from football, he describes that period of his life as one filled with trouble. It was during high school, however, that his attention began shifting toward music. He realized that his passion and ability were stronger in music, and he started taking his craft seriously.
In 2020, FattMack officially released his first album, Rookie Of The Year. The project also marked the beginning of his journey as a live performer, as he performed his first show that same year. From there, he continued building his catalog and developing his own sound while representing Mobile, Alabama.
A major turning point came in 2023 when FattMack released a tape that helped introduce his music to a much wider audience. He began seeing his numbers grow, along with his fanbase. The momentum showed him that the work he had been putting in was starting to reach people outside of his immediate circle.
Then came “BLRDDD.”
The song became FattMack’s first solo track to reach one million views and eventually became his biggest song. Its rise was helped by a moment surrounding a show he was scheduled to perform at that was shot up, leading to rumors that FattMack had died. During that time, he strategically released “BLRDDD,” and the attention surrounding the situation helped push the record to another level.
But “BLRDDD” was only one chapter of a growing catalog. Throughout his career, FattMack has continued to build with records like “Everglades,” “4L,” “Ring Ring Ring,” “Yellow,” “Oh Well,” “On God,” “IRL,” “Stay Right There,” and more.
Now, FattMack continues to build from the same place that started it all — Mobile, Alabama. From singing in the church choir as a kid to playing middle linebacker, navigating his younger years, discovering his passion for rap, and eventually building a growing fanbase, his journey has been about finding his lane and staying committed to it.
With his newest album, Mr. Did It By Hisself 3, out now on all streaming platforms, FattMack continues to add to his story and show exactly what he can do when he puts the work in.
