Baggmanjugg’s Story Is One of Faith, Loss, and Perseverance

Emerging out of Oklahoma City, Baggmanjugg is one of the most talented up and coming artist out there city.

Growing up, Baggmanjugg was raised by his mother as his father was incarcerated. His mother worked to provide for him despite their struggles, living off food stamps and Section 8. Even with limited resources, she made sure her son felt supported and continued to be a blessing in his life.

In 2017, Baggmanjugg experienced one of the hardest moments of his life when his mother passed away while he was incarcerated. Losing the person who had been there for him through everything was devastating, making an already difficult period even harder. Her strength, however, continues to live through him and remains a major part of his motivation.

Before music became his outlet, Baggmanjugg spent much of his time outside with friends, playing basketball and spending time at skating rinks. He also remembers Heritage Park Mall before it closed, especially a pizza spot where you could get a giant slice for a dollar. Those everyday moments and places became part of the environment that shaped him.

At 16 years old, Baggmanjugg started making music. It began with poetry before naturally developing into rap. As he continued writing, he found a way to turn his experiences and emotions into something people could hear and relate to.

One of his biggest musical inspirations is Bay Area legend The Jacka. Baggmanjugg describes him as a modern-day 2Pac because of the way he told real-life stories through his music. The Jacka’s ability to speak on pain, struggle, and everyday situations helped Baggmanjugg through some difficult moments and influenced the way he approaches his own music.

His style is just as versatile as his experiences. Depending on his mood, Baggmanjugg can move between a Detroit-inspired sound and a California influence, blending both styles into his own approach. He records all of his music from a homemade studio that he invested everything he had into, showing just how serious he is about creating his own path.

Recently, Baggmanjugg released “Real Burdens,” a record created to give listeners a different perspective on his life and the things he has experienced. He also dropped “Go Dumb,” a more groove-driven record that he considers his dopest song out right now. The contrast between the two records shows his versatility while giving listeners different sides of who he is as an artist.

There is more on the way. Baggmanjugg has new music coming with “Wavy Gang” and “Therapy Sessions,” along with his upcoming mixtape, Jugg Season Vol. 1.

Through everything he has experienced, Baggmanjugg continues to move forward with faith and purpose. He gives thanks to God for giving him the energy to keep pushing through his darkest moments, while carrying the words and encouragement of his mother with him.
