The Story Behind The Artist: The Journey Of ATTORIAN

Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, ATTORIAN represents two places that helped shape the person and artist he is today. His connection to creativity started early, writing poetry as far back as the fifth grade before eventually turning those words into songwriting and rap. Growing up in Memphis also played a major role in shaping his perspective on music, culture, individuality, and self-expression.

At 16, ATTORIAN began making beats, opening the door to a journey that would eventually lead him into songwriting, producing, recording, and engineering. Inspired by legendary entertainers like Michael Jackson and Prince, along with the performance and dance styles of James Brown and Chris Brown, he developed an appreciation for artists who bring more than just music to the table. Their influence, combined with the culture of Memphis, helped shape his approach to both sound and performance.

One of the most memorable places from his upbringing was the Bernal E. Smith Boys & Girls Club in East Memphis. More than just a local hangout, the club became an important part of his childhood, where he built lasting friendships and created memories that remain with him today.

Musically, ATTORIAN has carved out a sound that blends R&B and hip-hop with a Southern edge. He describes his style as “R&B thug,” bringing together smooth melodies and laid-back delivery with the raw energy and confidence of hip-hop. Whether he’s creating something mellow or delivering a more aggressive performance, he makes it a point to bring his own personality to the music rather than follow what everyone else is doing.

Another part of ATTORIAN’s journey is his hands-on approach to creating music. From producing beats to recording, mixing, and mastering, he has taught himself multiple sides of the process, allowing him to remain independent and maintain creative control. While he has experience recording in professional studio environments, much of his work has been created independently with his own equipment and resources.

That independence is reflected in his latest project, Rare Form: Beyond The Ordinary, which he produced entirely himself. With the project serving as another step in his musical journey, ATTORIAN is currently pushing the track “Met Her At Da Bar” while continuing to build his brand, develop new material, and work on visuals to bring his music to a wider audience.

As he continues to grow, ATTORIAN remains grateful for the people who have supported him along the way, from family and longtime supporters to the fans who stream his music, attend his performances, and help spread the word. With roots in Little Rock, a foundation shaped by Memphis, and a sound he continues to make his own, ATTORIAN is focused on taking his artistry beyond the ordinary.
