Growing up in Fontana, California, Denim Moore had a relatively ordinary childhood. Raised primarily by his mother and grandmother, he grew up in a household surrounded by women. Although his father was not present in his life, he had two people who consistently supported him and encouraged him to pursue whatever he set his mind to.
As a child, Moore spent much of his time at the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club. He kept to himself, stayed out of trouble, and maintained a small circle of friends, including two childhood friends named Ryan and Landon. He was never someone who needed to be surrounded by a crowd, preferring to move quietly and focus on his own path.
At 16, Moore discovered a growing interest in filmmaking. What started as a creative passion became something he wanted to pursue more seriously, opening the door to a future built around telling stories through film.
However, life would eventually put him through an experience far beyond anything he could have imagined.
On June 10, 2026, Moore says he was kidnapped and beaten in an incident involving an alleged ransom plot. According to his account, the mother of his son had arranged the setup. At the time, his 16-year-old nephew was also with him, putting another young life at risk.
As the situation unfolded, Moore made a split-second decision to push his nephew out of the moving vehicle in an attempt to protect him from whatever might happen next. He then tried to escape himself, suffering injuries as he was dragged along the road. His alleged kidnappers pulled him back into the vehicle and beat him until he lost consciousness.
When Moore regained consciousness, he found himself in a van in the mountains, with his hands tied behind his back and surrounded by darkness. He had no idea where he was or what would happen to him. In that moment, he was forced to confront the possibility that he might not make it out alive.
The experience left him with a story he says he is not yet ready to tell in its entirety. According to Moore, the investigation remains open and active. He hopes to share his full account publicly one day, potentially through a podcast, so others can hear what he experienced directly from him.
Despite what he has endured, Moore continues to look toward the future. He is preparing to release several films in early 2027, with most of his upcoming projects falling within the horror genre. His goal is to continue developing his craft and bringing stories to life through filmmaking.
One project, however, is especially personal. Moore is working on a film based on his alleged kidnapping, with the hope of eventually bringing the story to theaters. For him, the project represents an opportunity to translate one of the most difficult experiences of his life into a film that audiences can witness and understand.
Through every challenge, Moore credits his mother and girlfriend for standing beside him. Their continued support has played an important role in his life, and he recognizes that he would not be where he is today without them.
