A Melodic Story From Los Angeles: The Making of Balencii

Balencii’s story begins in Los Angeles, where he was raised by his grandparents and uncle while his parents lived in Mexico. His childhood wasn’t marked by luxury or ease, but it was filled with something even more influential — music. Both sides of his family carried deep musical roots, and with his grandparents being musicians themselves, he grew up surrounded by instruments, melodies, and a culture that treated music as a way of life. That early exposure shaped him before he ever realized it. Music wasn’t something he discovered; it was something he inherited.

Even before taking music seriously, Balencii was always involved with sound. He played instruments growing up, soaking in rhythms and learning how music works from the inside out. When he turned 18, everything shifted. That’s when he decided to take his artistry to the next level. What began as a childhood influence became a real path, and he poured himself into it.

A huge part of his musical identity came from his uncle, who introduced him to an incredibly wide range of genres — R&B, pop, Spanish music, freestyle, and everything in between. Instead of sticking to one lane, Balencii became a student of everything he heard. The mix of sounds helped him develop a unique perspective and approach to creating. It encouraged him to experiment, blend influences, and find a lane that felt true to who he was.

Today, Balencii describes his sound as melodic and emotional — music built from feeling. He aims to make songs that hit close to home, whether he’s talking about heartbreak, love, good times, or nights out with friends. His goal is simple: to make music people can relate to, while giving them something they can vibe to at the same time.

Most of his recording happens at different studios or at home, where he lays down reference tracks and catches ideas as they come. For him, it’s all about capturing the moment and letting the emotion lead.

Growing up, Balencii spent his time at local parks, amusement parks, and surrounded by family. As he got older and started exploring the city on his own terms, local bars and restaurants became part of his routine — places like Draft Picks, S&P, and Joseph’s. These spots became part of his everyday life and played a role in shaping the scenes and stories he now puts into his music.

His most recent release, “HML,” is a smooth, melodic record aimed at the ladies — a vibe that showcases his emotional style. Coming next is a new single titled “Heart Froze,” a track he’s excited to share as he continues to shape his sound and identity as an artist.

Balencii’s journey hasn’t been one he walked alone. He gives credit to his boys, his family, and especially his daughter for being one of his biggest inspirations. He talks about how she learns all his songs, and that love keeps him grounded and motivated. He also highlights the importance of his manager, someone he considers family. From the very beginning, his manager believed in his vision, guided him, and helped open doors. Having that type of support, trust, and commitment has played a major role in his growth.
