Behind the Chair, Behind the Mic: The Journey of Auuntieee

Born in Compton, California, and raised between Compton and Long Beach, Auuntieee is one of the most charismatic, fun, and talented up-and-coming artists and entertainers on the West Coast. Here’s her journey beyond the music.

As a child, weekends meant time with her father and cousins at her grandmother’s house. During the week, her mother made sure she had access to better opportunities, even if that meant relocating for a stronger school district. That balance of love and discipline shaped her early. But long before the studio nights and podcast, Auntiieee was already performing.

She danced for years — hip hop, tap, jazz — training seriously until she was a junior in college. At Jordan High School, she was on the dance team and even choreographed routines for school events. Music wasn’t just something she listened to. It was something she felt in her body. Whether she was dancing or rapping along to her favorite songs, she knew early on that rhythm would always be part of her life.

Growing up, Trina was her favorite artist. She remembers rapping every lyric and dancing in front of the TV when her videos came on BET. That bold, glamorous, unapologetic energy stuck with her. She also drew inspiration from Jeezy, 50 Cent, and Boosie Badazz — artists who spoke about hustle, survival, and power. Those influences now echo through her own sound.

But music wasn’t the first place she learned discipline. It was the hair salon.

Her mother had her in the shop from sun up to sun down. The smell of product, the hum of dryers, the rhythm of conversation — that was her childhood soundtrack. She practiced styles on doll heads and did her first set of individual braids at just three years old. What started as watching and learning became mastery.

Hair took her places most people only dream about. Across the United States and beyond — the Caribbean islands, Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Africa, Puerto Rico, Cancun, London, and Hawaii. Her hands have worked on some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Vivica A. Fox, Asian Doll, Tatted Sky, Stunna Girl, and Joseline Hernandez. What her mother passed down became a passport.

At 22, she stepped into the studio seriously for the first time. Before that, it was just fun — playing around with friends, no pressure, no releases. But later in life, after entering the podcast world, something reopened inside her. She returned to music with intention, dropping records and visuals and taking ownership of her sound.

That sound? Glamorous trap music centered on money, luxury, and female power. It’s bold but polished. Confident but controlled. It reflects a woman who knows how to command a room — whether she’s behind a mic or behind a chair.

Most of her music has been recorded at RZN Recording Studio in downtown Los Angeles. Her most recent single, “How Deep,” marks another step forward in her evolution as an artist. And she’s not slowing down. Fans can look forward to “Diva II” dropping this year.

When asked who helped her along the way, her answer is simple. Her mother. For raising her to be independent. For teaching her a trade. For showing her what work ethic looks like. And her friends — the ones who show up and support her consistently.

From Houghton Park dances and Lakewood Mall movie nights to international flights and studio sessions, Auuntieee’s journey is layered. Dancer. Rapper. Stylist. Entrepreneur. Each chapter feeds the next.
