Burton’s Own: Trapmadeit’s Story of Focus and Perseverance

Rising artist Trapmadeit, formerly known as C4E Trapmadeit or Classik4eva, is carving out his own lane from Beaufort. Raised in the Burton area of Beaufort—an area known for both its high crime rate and deep Gullah heritage—music became more than a hobby. It became a way to stay focused and out of trouble.

Growing up in a single-parent household, Trapmadeit learned early about responsibility and drive. Alongside his younger sister, Kai September, who is now making her own waves in the industry, creativity was part of everyday life. At just 12 years old, he began making instrumentals on an outdated program called Mixcraft after getting his first computer. Within a year, he discovered FL Studio and started recording himself and his sister. The process of creating something from nothing fueled him. That hunger for music only grew stronger.

His early influences came from gospel music played by his mother, including artists like Kirk Franklinand Fred Hammond. He also absorbed the soulful sounds of Mary J. Blige and Keyshia Cole. As he developed his own taste, he found inspiration in Lil WayneT-Pain, and Kanye West.

Trapmadeit describes his sound as melodic, insightful, and reflective, with heavy street undertones. No two songs sound the same. He produces most of his own beats and records much of his music independently. After years of investing in upgraded equipment, he built his own studio, creating a space where he could fully control his craft.

As a kid, he kept to himself. If he wasn’t outside on the green box, he was recording—either himself or someone else. Music became both his outlet and his focus.

His latest release, “LooseLeaf,” is an upbeat yet pain-driven record centered on coping with discouragement. It reflects the balance he’s mastered—honest emotion layered over strong production.

Trapmadeit credits his mother for teaching him how to hustle and never doubt himself. He thanks his family for keeping him grounded and his supporters for the motivation and encouragement they continue to give, both in person and online.
