Growing up in Atlanta, Bankroll Ni says she had a stable childhood with a hardworking mother who kept her and her siblings focused. Her family played a major role in shaping who she became, serving as both her support system and motivation throughout her life and music career. Music became part of her life at a young age. She remembers writing songs with a group called “Pretty Little Thugs” (PLT), where she first started developing her creativity and learning how to express herself through music. Her musical influences started at home. Bankroll Ni credits her mother for introducing her to R&B artists like Monica, Kesha, and Ashanti, whose music she grew up listening to. She also draws major inspiration from Atlanta itself, saying the city’s culture, energy, and people are all “built different.” That connection to her hometown eventually became part of her identity as an artist.
In 2020, she officially released her first song, “Big Mad,” marking the beginning of her professional music career.
