Family, Atlanta, And Music: The Story Of Bankroll Ni

Atlanta artist Bankroll Ni is building her name through consistency, confidence, and staying true to her city. From recording freestyle videos in her car as a teenager to creating viral records and earning industry attention, her journey has been growing step by step.

Growing up in Atlanta, Bankroll Ni says she had a stable childhood with a hardworking mother who kept her and her siblings focused. Her family played a major role in shaping who she became, serving as both her support system and motivation throughout her life and music career. During her younger years and all through high school, she was also a cheerleader, something that helped build discipline and confidence early on.

Music became part of her life at a young age. She remembers writing songs with a group called “Pretty Little Thugs” (PLT), where she first started developing her creativity and learning how to express herself through music. Around 15 years old, she began filming freestyle videos inside her car, slowly building attention online while sharpening her sound.

Her musical influences started at home. Bankroll Ni credits her mother for introducing her to R&B artists like Monica, Kesha, and Ashanti, whose music she grew up listening to. She also draws major inspiration from Atlanta itself, saying the city’s culture, energy, and people are all “built different.” That connection to her hometown eventually became part of her identity as an artist.

In 2020, she officially released her first song, “Big Mad,” marking the beginning of her professional music career. Not long after, she gained major traction with her viral record “I’m So ATL,” a song that connected strongly with fans online and captured the energy of Atlanta culture, especially across TikTok.

As her buzz continued to grow, Bankroll Ni released her six-track EP Who Is Bankroll? featuring appearances from Lizzo and Bri3. The project gave listeners a deeper introduction to her style, versatility, and personality as an artist.

When it comes to creating music, Bankroll Ni says she lets the beat guide her direction. Instead of forcing inspiration, she focuses on the feeling of the production and allows it to shape what she wants to say on a record. She also names Young Thug as one of her biggest inspirations from Atlanta, praising his evolution, originality, and consistency throughout his career.

With viral success, industry co-signs, and a growing fanbase behind her, Bankroll Ni continues proving why she’s one of the hottest female artists coming out of Atlanta right now.
