HeartbreakNixon: Real Stories, Real Feelings, Real Music

Los Angeles has long been a place where music, culture, and personal stories collide. For HeartbreakNixon, also known simply as Nixon, that environment helped shape both his sound and his voice as an artist.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Nixon’s creative journey began with movement before it ever reached a microphone. At just 10 years old, he started dancing, developing an early connection to rhythm and expression. By the time he turned 16, that passion evolved into writing and recording music, opening the door to a deeper form of storytelling.

Growing up, he was surrounded by the sounds of R&B and hip-hop—the melodies, the samples, and the hard-hitting 808s that define the genre. Artists like Lauryn HillDrakeLil Wayne, and Kanye Westplayed a major role in shaping his musical taste and artistic direction.

Today, HeartbreakNixon describes his sound as “refreshingly vulnerable and relatable.” His music blends soulful samples with strong beats, but it’s the honesty in his lyrics that stands out most. He speaks on real experiences—love, heartbreak, growth, and everyday struggles—the kinds of moments everyone goes through. As he puts it, he simply learned how to articulate those feelings through rhythm and poetry.

Much of his catalog has been recorded in the comfort of his own bedroom. For Nixon, that space allows him to slow down, be honest with himself, and create without the pressure of expensive studio sessions. It’s also where he’s developed another skill—mixing much of his own music to bring his vision fully to life.

When he’s not creating, you can find him around some of his favorite Los Angeles spots, including Westfield Culver City—known to many locals as Fox Hills Mall—or hanging around the Melrose and Fairfax area, where music, fashion, and street culture constantly intersect.

His latest project, “COME HOME,” showcases the emotional depth and musical growth that define his artistry today. The album captures both the vulnerability and confidence that run through his work.

Fans can also check out the visual for “Love Jones,” which is out now, while new music continues to build momentum with his upcoming single “Roofman” on the way.

As HeartbreakNixon continues to carve out his place in the Los Angeles music scene, he remains grounded in gratitude. He gives credit to the producers and videographers who help bring his ideas to life—and above all, he sends love to his daughter, who serves as one of his biggest inspirations moving forward.
