Inglewood’s Own Lil’ Duece: From Darby Park to Millions of Streams

InglewoodCalifornia has long been a breeding ground for raw talent, and Lil’ Duece stands firmly among the city’s newest rising stars. Fresh off his latest EP Clark Kent—a 7-track project presented by DJ Carisma and featuring Longè2K. And his most recent single Hot Boy—Lil’ Duece continues to elevate his name while staying true to the city that raised him.

Before the streams, the buzz, and the mounting respect, Lil’ Duece’s story began long before he ever took rap seriously. Growing up between the streets of Inglewood and local hubs like Darby Park, he spent his early years absorbing music without even realizing how deeply it would shape him.

But even before he became an artist himself, music was already pulling him in. Well-known artist Skeme—another respected voice from the region—used to take Lil’ Duece to Paramount Studios just to hang out, stay out the way, and get a firsthand look at the world he would eventually step into. Those studio visits, the people around him, and the environment that surrounded him all played a role in shaping the artist he would become.

By 2018–2019, Lil’ Duece decided to take music seriously, channeling his lived experiences into songs that carried both authenticity and intention. His style reflects exactly where he’s from: an unfiltered street aura, lifestyle-driven storytelling, and a delivery rooted in real moments—not trends. As he grew, so did the support around him. Many different artists, relationships, and influences helped him climb each step, something he remains extremely appreciative of today.

Millions of streams later, he’s turned that authenticity into momentum. Tracks like “Outside (Tiny Yung Freestyle),” “Tired of Being Broke,” “Sinners,” “Still Thuggin,” and “Get To It” have helped cement him as a hometown favorite, celebrated for giving listeners a piece of Inglewood with every release.

Lil’ Duece is more than a rising artist—he’s a product of his environment, a reflection of his influences, and a testament to what happens when talent meets community support. From Darby Park to millions of streams, his story is still being written, and Inglewood is right behind him every step of the way.
