Coming out of Watts, California, Pimpcess Chenelle brings a bold and unapologetic presence to music. Raised in Compton alongside her mother and younger sister, her upbringing was filled with creativity, movement, and self-expression. Whether she was making up dance routines with her cousins or writing poems on her own, the foundation for her artistry was there early—it just needed the right moment to come to life.
That moment came later than most. At 16, she was already writing through platforms like Ghettosoul Poetry, building her voice piece by piece. But it wasn’t until the age of 27, after being challenged by her younger sister to do a “Thotiana” challenge, that everything shifted. What started as something fun quickly turned into something real. From that point on, she took music seriously—and never looked back.
Inspired by artists like Nicki Minaj, Lil Kim, Rihanna, Kash Doll, KenTheMan, The Game, 50 Cent, and Lil Wayne, her sound reflects a mix of confidence, attitude, and authenticity. But it was Cardi B who truly made her feel like it was possible to step into the spotlight and own it. That influence shows in her delivery—fearless, expressive, and real.
Her sound is exactly how she describes it: “Pimpcess.” It’s raw, metaphor-heavy, and built to empower. Every track carries energy that encourages women to stand in their power and speak without hesitation. There’s no filter—just confidence and truth.
Most of her music has been created in one of the most personal spaces possible—her walk-in closet. That’s where ideas turn into records, where she locks in and brings her vision to life. It’s not about the setting, it’s about the energy, and that’s something she’s mastered.
Growing up, her days were spent enjoying the simple but memorable moments—time at amusement parks, after-school stops at Ted Watkins Park, skating rinks, and frequent trips to South Bay Galleria. Those experiences shaped her personality and the energy she brings into her music today.
Her latest release, Pretty Villainz, marks another step forward, with more music already on the way. She’s building momentum and staying consistent, with new records set to drop soon.
At the center of it all is her support system, especially her younger sister, Swirled Babiee. The belief her sister had in her before she even saw it herself became a turning point. That support still fuels her today.
