Robin Harris Jr.: Carrying a Legacy, and Creating His Own

Los Angeles native Robin Harris Jr. is doing far more than following in the footsteps of his legendary father—the late comedian Robin Harris—he’s carving out a powerful legacy of his own. With his new single “Make It Happen” (produced by Reddnthabuilding), RHJ continues to show why he’s one of the most talented and versatile up-and-coming artists on the West Coast.

For Robin Harris Jr., purpose comes before everything — before the stage, before the spotlight, and even before the studio. The Los Angeles native has made it his mission to uplift communities, and educate the youth.

As the Director of Communications for The Robin Harris Foundation, RHJ continues to preserve his father’s cultural impact while building a legacy of his own. The foundation focuses on community-driven programs that include comedy tributes in Leimert Park at the Regency West (formerly The Comedy Act Theater), partnerships with the American Heart Association to raise awareness about heart disease, and youth initiatives that use sports and performing arts as tools for empowerment.

But Robin’s purpose doesn’t stop at honoring the past — he’s shaping the future. Through his imprint HIGH STVNDVRD, he’s created multiple platforms designed to educate and inspire. HIGH STVNDVRD SOUND hosts music production workshops and teaches music business practices to young creatives, while HIGH STVNDVRD SPORTS provides sports training and development opportunities for youth. These programs are all part of RHJ’s belief that excellence and discipline start early — and that success should be shared.

Following his award-winning visual “Got It Bad,” which earned Best Music Video honors at the 2025 TrillVision Festival, Robin is stepping into a new musical era with his latest single, “Make It Happen”(produced by Reddnthabuilding). The record captures his mindset perfectly — focused, determined, and rooted in faith and ambition.

With a versatile, melodic sound and a dope cadence that balances emotion and skill, Robin Harris Jr. has quickly become one of the most talented rising artists on the West Coast. His music reflects his mission — to motivate, inspire, and leave something lasting.

And he’s far from done. With a new EP planned for 2026, RHJ is continuing to evolve, blending his purpose with his passion and proving that legacy isn’t something you inherit — it’s something you build.
