Growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, LilTrey(YSN) was surrounded by different people, experiences, and environments that would eventually become part of the foundation for his music. His family and the people around him played an important role in his upbringing, while the experiences he had at a young age gave him plenty to express.
Music became part of that expression early. LilTrey(YSN) started making music when he was just 9 years old. What began as something he did for fun gradually became something more serious. As he continued creating, he realized music could be more than just entertainment—it could be a way to cope with whatever he was going through and put his feelings into something people could hear.
Milwaukee also gave him plenty of inspiration. As a kid, he spent time at his great-grandmother’s house, around Uptown, and most importantly with his family. Those experiences and environments became part of the world he draws from creatively today.
His musical influences come from both outside Milwaukee and within the city. Artists like Drake, YoungBoy, and Playboi Carti helped inspire him on an industry level, while Milwaukee artists including Chicken P, Johnuro, Big Homie DreCash, Funny $Money, and many others showed him the importance of creating your own lane. LilTrey(YSN) paid attention not only to their music, but also to how artists build their own worlds through their sound, visuals, style, and presence.
That mindset helped shape his approach. Rather than trying to follow what everybody else is doing, LilTrey(YSN) wants to create an identity that belongs to him.
He describes his sound as versatile, energetic, and personal. He doesn’t want to be placed in one box. He can bring an aggressive, high-energy feel to a record, then switch things up and become more personal or reflective when the song calls for it. At the center of it all is one goal: creating music that people can recognize as LilTrey(YSN).
A lot of that music has been recorded at home, where he has been able to freely develop his ideas and experiment with his sound. He also records and gets music mastered and cleaned up at Rhythm X Records, another important part of his growth as an artist.
In 2026, LilTrey(YSN) has continued putting that work into motion. His latest project, Revenge, dropped on March 13, 2026, followed by singles including “Fuck the Hoes Up” featuring Big Frank, “Trending Topic” featuring Big Celly, and his most recent single, “Denim Tears.”
He is also pushing a video for “Sak Chasin” by LilTrey(YSN) featuring Primety, giving fans another visual look into what he has been building.
But LilTrey(YSN) isn’t looking at Revenge as the finish line. He is already focused on what’s next, with plans to make his next project bigger than what he has already released and continue expanding beyond Milwaukee. For him, the goal is growth—without losing the identity that made him start creating in the first place.
Behind that motivation is someone who remains at the center of his story: his grandfather, Poppa Cat, who has passed away. LilTrey(YSN) says his grandfather believed in him the most when he was just starting out.
“I did it all for him.”
That connection gives his journey an even deeper meaning.
