Emerging out of Toronto, Canada, LØLØ has built her sound around honesty, emotion, and a willingness to say exactly what she feels. But long before songwriting became her outlet, she was a young girl dreaming of the stage.
As a child, LØLØ was obsessed with musicals and dreamed of one day performing on Broadway. She took tap dancing, acting, and singing classes, naturally gravitating toward the performing arts from an early age. Music and performance were already a major part of her world before she ever picked up a guitar.
That changed at the beginning of high school when LØLØ started learning guitar. What began as simply learning an instrument eventually opened the door to songwriting.
Growing up, she found inspiration in a wide range of artists and bands, including Green Day, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, Ashley Simpson, Michelle Branch, and Alanis Morissette. Those influences helped shape her relationship with music while giving her different sounds and perspectives to pull from.
LØLØ had always kept a diary, but turning those personal thoughts into actual songs was something she was initially hesitant to do. That changed because of a challenge from her guitar teacher.
Her teacher gave her an ultimatum: if she didn’t write him a song, he wouldn’t come back for their next lesson. Taking the challenge seriously, LØLØ sat down on her bed and started writing. Instead of coming up with one song, she ended up writing five songs during that single session.
That moment became a turning point. What started as a challenge sparked something much bigger, giving LØLØ the confidence and motivation to take songwriting seriously and eventually pursue it as a career.
In 2024, she released her debut album, Falling for Robots and Wishing I Was One, officially beginning another chapter in her journey as an artist.
Her story continued to develop with the release of her latest album, god forbid a girl spits out her feelings!, which arrived in April 2026. The title itself says a lot about the space LØLØ creates through her music.
The project was inspired by her frustration with being made to feel like she should suppress her emotions, especially when it comes to relationships. Instead of holding those feelings in, she turned them into songs and gave herself the freedom to express them openly.
That honesty has become an important part of LØLØ’s music. Her creativity also extends beyond music, with pop culture, films, and television finding their way into her artistic world. References to titles such as 007, The Punisher, and The Devil Wears Converse show how much those influences can become part of her storytelling.
Throughout her journey, songs like “u turn me on (but you give me depression),” “pretty little wreck,” “hot girls in hell,” “faceplant,” “Debbie downer,” “the devil wears converse,” and “Dancing in the Dark” have helped define different sides of her sound and personality.
From a childhood spent dreaming about Broadway to discovering guitar in high school and eventually turning diary entries into songs, LØLØ has continued to find her voice by being honest about what she feels.
Now, with god forbid a girl spits out her feelings! adding another chapter to her story, she continues to turn real emotions, relationships, influences, and experiences into music that feels personal without holding back.
