For TNS Kai, music is more than something he picked up along the way. It has been connected to his life from a young age, shaped by his upbringing, his experiences and the people who helped mold him.
Kai grew up in Liberty City, Miami, before moving to Lauderdale Lakes in Broward County as a kid. Growing up, football was one of the ways he spent his time. Charles Hadley Park became one of the places where he played and created memories during his younger years.
But as Kai got older, life also introduced him to loss. During his teenage years, he lost his best friend, Neesto. The loss deeply affected him and became one of the experiences that stayed with him as he continued growing into the person and artist he is today.
His connection to music started even before he began rapping. His grandmother placed him in the church choir, giving him an early introduction to performing and using his voice. By around 14 or 15 years old, Kai stepped into a studio for the first time.
He recorded several songs during that first experience, and instead of treating it like something temporary, he immediately wanted to do more. The studio became a place where he could express himself and take his creativity seriously.
Kai was so committed to recording that he once used money from his father’s savings without permission to fund his studio time. It led to a serious conversation with his dad, but ultimately, his father understood how much music meant to him. That moment became another part of Kai’s early journey.
As he developed his sound, artists like NBA YoungBoy and Rod Wave became major inspirations. Their music gave Kai motivation and helped him believe that building a career through his own music was possible.
He began putting his music on SoundCloud and quickly started receiving positive feedback from people around his community. That response gave him the confidence to keep pushing.
When he reached high school, the momentum continued. Kai released a full project that became popular among his classmates, with students and even faculty members showing support for his music. What started as a young artist recording songs in the studio was beginning to turn into something much bigger.
That growth eventually led to Time Never Wait, a mixtape built around a period of self-reflection. Some of the songs were recorded at home, giving the project a personal feel and allowing Kai to capture where his mind was during that time.
Records like “No Replies” and “Don’t Know Me” have stood out from the project, continuing to bring attention to his music and showing the growth that has come with experience.
One of the biggest moments in Kai’s journey came when Rod Wave reached out to him. For an artist who had already looked up to Rod as an inspiration, the interaction became a major source of motivation and proof that the work was starting to reach beyond his immediate surroundings.
Now, TNS Kai has bigger goals in mind. He wants to become an arena-level artist and eventually reach the highest level of recognition, including winning a Grammy.
But he isn’t slowing down.
A deluxe version of Time Never Wait is on the way, expected in the coming weeks, with new music including the track “Faded.” It’s another step forward for an artist who has continued to build from his own experiences.
Even his name carries meaning. TNS stands for “Trust No Soul” or “Time Never Stop,” two phrases that represent different sides of his mindset.
