Trizz: A Relentless Rise from the Inland Empire to “LEATHERFACE lll”

For Inland Empire rapper Trizz, mastery didn’t come from a sudden spark—it came from years of relentless creation, discipline, and the hunger to carve out a lane uniquely his own. His journey, spanning from childhood curiosity to becoming one of the most impressively consistent independent artists in the underground circuit, now brings him to his newest and highly anticipated album, “LEATHERFACE 3.”

Trizz’s connection to music began before he was even old enough to fully understand its power. At just nine years old, he picked up a microphone for the first time, quickly becoming an avid student of hip-hop. Growing up in the Inland Empire, where boredom often pushed kids to find their own entertainment, rap became an outlet—a means of expression, creativity, and escape. By his early teens, Trizz was sharpening his pen at a rapid pace, writing daily and experimenting with sounds. Under the moniker “Young Trizz,” he produced his own beats and mixtapes, eventually releasing his debut full-length EP, Young Trizz, a raw and honest reflection of a young independent artist striving to break ahead of the pack.

Everything changed in 2012 when Sacramento legend Brotha Lynch Hung—a pioneer in horrorcore and a major figure in the underground rap scene—took notice of Trizz on Twitter. Impressed by the young MC’s raw skill and dark-tinged creativity, Lynch brought Trizz under his wing, opening the door to a new level of mentorship and exposure. This led to Trizz joining two major tours: the Independent Powerhouse Tour with Tech N9ne and Strange Music in 2013, and the Sicc of Da Industry Tour in 2014. Lynch went even further, giving Trizz two writing credits on his album Mannibalector for the tracks “MDK” and “Bacon & Eggs (Skit).” For any young rapper, it was a co-sign that carried serious weight—and Trizz used that momentum to push himself even harder.

Collaboration has always been a defining part of Trizz’s journey. Over the years, he’s worked with an extensive list of respected artists including Ab-SoulT.FKokaneBino RideauxG Perico, Rob $tone, Rittz, Twisted Insane, Futuristic, Bizarre of D12, King ISO, Mark Battles, Ces Cru, King Gordy, and of course Brotha Lynch Hung and other key figures in the underground West Coast circuit. His name became associated with sharp lyricism, eerie themes, and an ability to shift seamlessly between laid-back West Coast vibes and darker, more aggressive storytelling.

In 2013, another pivotal partnership was formed when Trizz linked up with Sacramento MC Chuuwee. The chemistry was immediate. Their joint albums AmeriKKa’s Most Blunted and AmeriKKa’s Most Blunted 2, along with the Two Puff Pass and Smoke Out EPs, received strong praise from major outlets such as Complex, HipHopDX, Mass Appeal, Stereogum, and 2Dopeboyz. Their synergy was so natural that they formed a collective called Break Bread Posse, solidifying their creative bond and continuing to feed fans projects rooted in chemistry, skill, and authenticity.

From his breakout project “Case 17” in 2012 all the way to his newest release, Trizz has achieved something rare: unwavering consistency. Across thirteen years, he has dropped a staggering 25 albums, building an extensive catalog that showcases not only his work ethic but his evolution as an artist. Every release sharpened his craft, deepened his world-building, and helped shape the dark, cinematic style his fans have grown to love.

Now, that journey culminates in “LEATHERFACE 3”, the next chapter in one of his most celebrated series. The album delivers 10 tracks and features an elite lineup including Bleezo, X-Raided, Cal-E-Clipz, Twisted Insane, and the mentor who helped jumpstart it all—Brotha Lynch Hung. Together, they expand on the chilling, storytelling-driven universe of the Leatherface series with fresh intensity.

Key records such as “Baby Ripgut,” “Die If I Want To,” “Like This,” “Flies,” and “Maggots & Bugs”capture the tone of the project—dark, unfiltered, cinematic, and sharp-edged, reflecting the horrorcore DNA that runs through Trizz’s work while still showcasing his evolution in delivery, structure, and confidence. The album solidifies why Trizz continues to be one of the most intriguing figures in the underground: he knows exactly who he is and what world he wants to build, and he executes it with precision every time.
