Emerging from Compton, California, 1K Nae is an artist building her own lane with a sound shaped by her experiences, influences, and the people around her. Unlike many stories rooted in struggle, Nae’s upbringing was filled with love, support, and family values. Raised with both parents present, she grew up surrounded by a strong family foundation that helped shape the person and artist she is today.
Throughout her childhood, Nae had the opportunity to experience different parts of the West Coast, living in areas across Los Angeles County, San Diego, San Bernardino, and the Bay Area. While those experiences helped expand her perspective, Compton has always remained home and continues to be a major part of her identity.
Around her 10th grade year, Nae began creating music of her own. Growing up listening to a wide range of sounds, including Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, and more, she developed an appreciation for different styles that would later influence her own artistry. With cousins, family members, and friends also involved in music, she was always around the creative process and had access to basic recording equipment to experiment and develop her craft.
A lot of her early growth came from spending time at her God Mom Pinky’s house and her cousin Nettey’s house, where she would record, exchange ideas, and build with the people around her. Those moments helped her discover her sound, sharpen her direction, and find her confidence as an artist.
Throughout her journey, 1K Nae has released several standout records including “House Rules,” “Watch Yo Mouth,” “March Time,” “6 Shots,” “Big Mama,” and more. Continuing to build momentum, she released her project “Full House” in 2025, a five-track project with no features that showcased her ability to carry a project on her own.
In 2026, 1K Nae has continued her run by releasing five singles, including her latest release “YOP” featuring ASN JAYBOOG, now available on all streaming platforms. With a growing catalog and a sound rooted in authenticity, 1K Nae is continuing to represent Compton while creating her own path in music.
