Emerging out of Compton, California, 1TakeJay recently released his latest album, Ghetto Anthems, currently available on all streaming platforms. The 19-track project features Blueface, BennyAve, Haiti Babii, CngCam, Nobleone, YLTHAMONEYMAN, Ralfy The Plug, Daisy, and Twoske.
The project features production from Cementcityshape, Laudiano, 420tiesto, HOMBBRE, ZAY FROM LA, BZ, MELLOW RICO, JUJU., Trey Lawson, Echo, Low The Great, and Young Macky.
From the opening record, “West Coast,” 1TakeJay sets the tone with his classic high-energy vibes, unique lingo and wordplay, commanding delivery, and distinctive voice. He brings the same energy throughout the project while showcasing the sound that has made him a homegrown favorite.
Track number 5, “Step” featuring Twoske, is a personal standout. The record opens with a throwback sample of Parliament’s “Flashlight,” setting the tone before 1TakeJay and Twoske take over.
On track number 8, “10Thou,” 1TakeJay showcases his versatility while blending in with the style of Ralfy The Plug. This is a record to slide to.
Track number 18 featuring Haiti Babii is another standout. The heartfelt record gives listeners something they can relate to while showing a different side of 1TakeJay.
