We sat down and asked “Ajaxx” a few question’s for his fan’s to get a deeper look at his upbringing.
Q: What city are you from?
Ajaxx : I’m from Watts California
Q: When did you start making music?
Ajaxx: I started making music in 2008 with some friends.
Q: Tell us about your childhood?
Ajaxx : I was raised in Watts by my granny, my dad was in and out the home but he was present. My granny was everything, she kept me busy and out the streets for the most part, I still did my shit tho. She kept me involved with music from church choir to piano lessons, to clarinet lessons. She helped me buy my first laptop for recording process. We didn’t have it all, but I also didn’t want for much.
Q: What artist did you grow up listening to that inspired your sound?
Ajaxx : My dad did music so I grew up listening to all kinds of music from Jackie Wilson, Bobby Womack, 2Pac, Biggie, Ludacris, Mystical, The Temptations, Music Soul Child, Donnell Jones, Dom Kennedy, the list is long and they all inspired me in someway.
Q: Where did you first start recording music?
Ajaxx: Starting off I was recording at the homies “Kam” house, downtown on trinity, till I linked with a childhood friend “Kenny” aka “Travi Peso”. And his house became our studio and Mecca for years. Later on I went to engineer school and got my degree in recording arts and bought my own studio equipment, and the rest is history.
Q: Who are some Artist you wanna shout out that you worked with?
Ajaxx : My music career is a little different, I started off as an engineer so I have worked with a bunch of people like 03 Greedo, Kalan.FrFr, G Perico, Arin Way, Westside McFly, Haiti Babi, Twoske, just to name a few. As an artist not so many, mostly friends but that will change soon, got a couple features in the works.
Q: If you could explain your sound how would you?
Ajaxx: My sound is cruising music, it’s music you can turn on and take a drive. It’s a real vibe fursure!
Q: What is your most recent release?
Ajaxx: My most recent release would be my EP JAXX WØRLD EP out now on all platforms, go stream it.
