For Zel Omar, music started with inspiration at a young age. Growing up on Long Island, New York, he remembers being a kid listening to Bow Wow and feeling something click. Seeing someone close to his age succeed in hip-hop made the dream feel real. It planted the seed that one day he could do the same.
By the time he was 11 years old, Zel had already taken his first real step into music. He joined a community music program run by DJ Johnny Juice of Public Enemy, where he began learning how to create and record songs. That early exposure gave him both confidence and direction, showing him that music could be more than just a hobby.
Like many young artists, Zel spent his teenage years moving between the places that shaped his creativity. The studio quickly became a second home, while hangout spots like Smith Street Park and Roosevelt Field Mall were part of everyday life. Those experiences and environments helped shape the perspective he brings into his music today.
Now recognized as both a recording artist and entrepreneur, Zel Omar represents a new generation of creatives who understand the importance of ownership and strategy. His sound blends modern hip-hop and trap influences with motivational themes centered around resilience, ambition, and leveling up. Rather than simply participating in the culture, Zel approaches music like an architect—carefully building records that reflect independence, confidence, and self-made success.
In 2020, he expanded his vision beyond the microphone by founding Domination Entertainment LLC, an entertainment production company designed to develop and scale creative ventures across music and media. Through the company, Zel has helped contribute to projects that have earned RIAA Platinum certifications and Billboard plaques, proving his ability to operate not just as an artist but also as an executive within the industry.
Much of Zel’s own music is recorded at Domination Studios, The L.I.T.T. Factory, and Platinum Sound Recording Studios, where he continues to refine his sound and creative direction.
His most recent release, Underdog Pack, dropped on April 3 and represents another step forward in his journey. The project highlights his hunger, determination, and belief in building something that lasts.
