From the streets of South Central Los Angeles to the underground rap scene, rising artist mikeystillsocold is building a sound rooted in authenticity, creativity, and raw energy. His story starts between both sides of Los Angeles, spending his early years on the Westside before moving to the Eastside at age 10, where much of his identity and artistry began to take shape.
Growing up in the 2000s, mikeystillsocold spent his childhood skateboarding, drawing, and tagging alongside his friends. He describes those years as fun and chaotic, admitting they were “bad asf,” but those experiences helped shape the rebellious and creative energy that now lives inside his music. By middle school, he found himself surrounded by a group of friends who shared the same passions for skating and music, creating a natural bond that pushed him deeper into the underground scene.
His journey into music officially began around the end of fifth grade heading into sixth grade, when he started rapping with a friend who introduced him to the influential underground collective Raider Klan. Artists like Denzel Curry, Xavier Wulf, Chris Travis, Bones, SpaceGhostPurrp, Eddy Baker, Yung Simmie, and others inspired him to take music seriously and develop his own identity as an artist.
Today, mikeystillsocold describes his sound as “dark underground LA crunk music,” heavily influenced by the eerie, aggressive style of groups like Three 6 Mafia. At the same time, his versatility allows him to move between dark underground records, weed-inspired tracks, and West Coast music effortlessly. That balance has helped him stand out within the new generation of underground artists coming out of Los Angeles.
Throughout his career, he has recorded music in every environment possible, from home studios and school studios to professional recording spaces. No matter the location, quality has always remained important to him. He also gave recognition to engineers and collaborators Cole (@coleucold) and Mark (@lowekeystudios) for their work mixing, mastering, and helping bring his sound to life.
His latest release, “TEAR THE CLUB,” is currently available on YouTube and continues to showcase the aggressive energy and underground style that fans have come to expect from him. Beyond the current release, mikeystillsocold says fans should prepare for a nonstop summer filled with new singles, videos, merch, stickers, and exclusive drops alongside his collective, GamiBoyz.
As his movement continues to grow, he remains connected to the underground culture and the people who supported him from the beginning. He closed with love for the entire underground scene, showing appreciation to artists like Xavier Wulf and Black Smurf, along with friends including S3TheSavag3, Bando Bam, NGB Dannyboi, Tax Free, and his family.
