Raised in the Bronx, New York, GeezLy’s story is one built on culture, resilience, and a passion for music that was present from an early age. Growing up under the care of a hardworking single mother, she was surrounded by strong influences that helped shape the artist she would eventually become.
A large part of her childhood was spent with her Dominican babysitter, who became an important figure in her life. Every summer, GeezLy traveled to the Dominican Republic, where she immersed herself in the culture, language, and lifestyle. Those experiences gave her a deep connection to her roots and would later become a major influence on her music.
Music was also never far from reach. Her father played in a church band, exposing her to live instruments and musical creativity at a young age. While she didn’t immediately pursue music herself, those early experiences planted the seeds for what would become her future career.
As she got older, GeezLy began freestyling for fun, often rapping in her car without any expectations beyond enjoying the moment. That changed when she recorded herself rapping over the City Girls’ hit beat “Act Up” and posted the video online. The response was immediate. The freestyle gained traction, and within a week, DJs were reaching out and inviting her to perform. What started as a casual upload quickly became the beginning of something much bigger.
Drawing from both her New York upbringing and Dominican heritage, GeezLy developed a sound that blends Latin trap and hip-hop while moving effortlessly between English and Spanish. Rather than fitting into one lane, she created a style that reflects every part of her identity.
Her breakthrough arrived in 2022 with the release of “Ruleteo,” a record that introduced her to a wider audience and established her as an artist to watch. She continued building momentum and, in 2024, released her debut bilingual album, GeezLy’s World. The 10-track project showcased her versatility and featured collaborations with That Mexican OT, Conep, Bordeaux, Non Native, and NTG.
Leading the album was “Smooth Operator,” a standout record that accumulated millions of streams across platforms and further expanded her growing fanbase. The success of the song demonstrated GeezLy’s ability to connect with listeners across different cultures and languages.
Today, GeezLy continues to push her sound forward while staying true to the experiences that shaped her. Whether she’s delivering hard-hitting bars, melodic hooks, or bilingual storytelling, her music reflects the journey of a young woman who turned her upbringing into art.
Her latest release, “Love Language” featuring Carlos Trvp, is available now on all streaming platforms, marking another chapter in the ongoing rise of one of the Bronx’s most promising voices.
