Coming out of Baltimore, Maryland, Slikk Flock is an artist whose music reflects the city that raised him.
Growing up, Slikk Flock describes his childhood as normal for someone coming from his environment. Life wasn’t always perfect, but it wasn’t all bad either. Like many kids in the city, he spent his days outside playing sports, hanging out with friends, and enjoying the simple moments that came with growing up in the neighborhood.
One of his biggest childhood passions was wrestling. He collected wrestling action figures, watched matches regularly, and spent countless hours immersed in the world of sports entertainment. Along with wrestling, video games and music videos became a major part of his daily routine, unknowingly helping shape the creative side that would later emerge.
Music was always around him from the very beginning. His family remembers how easy he was to babysit as a child. According to his aunts, all they had to do was put on Michael Jackson videos and he would be completely entertained. Long before he ever recorded a song, music had already become part of who he was.
Although the love for music started early, Slikk Flock didn’t begin pursuing it seriously until he was around 19 or 20 years old. As he got older, he found himself drawn to the art of storytelling and self-expression. Music became a way to turn life experiences into something meaningful.
Growing up in Baltimore exposed him to a wide variety of sounds. The city’s culture never limited itself to one region or style. Whether artists came from the North, South, East, or West, Baltimore listeners embraced great music regardless of where it originated.
Among the artists who inspired him most were Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Jadakiss, T.I., 50 Cent, and Young Dro. Each brought something different to the table, from lyricism and storytelling to charisma, flow, and originality. Those influences helped shape the artist he would eventually become.
Today, Slikk Flock describes his music as authentic and true to Baltimore. His records are built from real experiences, both good and bad, giving listeners an honest look into his life and perspective. Sonically, his music reflects Baltimore’s unique position as a city influenced by both Northern and Southern cultures.
When listening to his music, you’ll hear lyrical storytelling, confident delivery, diverse flows, and different cadences blended together naturally. It’s a sound that embraces creativity while remaining rooted in reality. He isn’t afraid to step outside the box, but he never loses sight of where he comes from.
Many of the records he creates today are recorded at 1045 Recording Studio, a space he shares with his close friends and collaborators. The studio has become a home for creativity, allowing him to continue developing his craft while building alongside the people closest to him.
When he wasn’t focused on music growing up, his favorite place to be was simple—the block. Like many Baltimore natives, the neighborhood became a place where friendships were built, stories were created, and life lessons were learned. Those experiences continue to inspire the music he makes today.
Slikk Flock has already released several singles across streaming platforms, but he’s preparing for an even bigger year ahead. His newest single, “Early Morning Trappin,” is set to release on June 19 and continues the authentic storytelling that fans have come to expect from him. Alongside the new release, he has plenty of additional music in the works and shows no signs of slowing down.
As he reflects on his journey, Slikk Flock is quick to acknowledge the people who helped shape his path. He gives credit to his Cherry Hill brothers—Cutty, Keedy, and Mo Pete—who were among the first rappers he was around and played a role in inspiring him to pursue music. He also credits his sister for her influence and support throughout the years.
A special shoutout goes to his cousin Skooda, who he considers his favorite Baltimore rapper of all time. Watching Skooda’s dedication and talent pushed Slikk Flock to elevate his own pen and performance whenever they worked together.
He also expresses gratitude to producers and collaborators like Pauly, Causion, and Cutty for helping shape his sound. His appreciation extends to his Band Up brothers SK8 and Beanz, his entire 1045 crew, and close friends Smurf and D.Nick, who continue building alongside him as they chase success together.
Most importantly, Slikk Flock thanks every supporter who has been part of the journey so far and those who will discover his music in the future.
