The Story Behind The Artist: Bri3’s Journey Out Of Baltimore

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Bri3 spent her early childhood moving between different places that would ultimately shape her identity and sound. At a young age, she relocated to Atlanta with her mother and sister, where they lived for about four years before returning to Baltimore. Later, at the age of 10, she moved to Waldorf, Maryland, where many of her teenage years would unfold.

Growing up between different cities gave Bri3 a unique perspective, but it was her connection to the DMV area that helped define her confidence as an artist. She proudly credits the culture of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia region for influencing her personality and musical style. Known for its toughness, self-assurance, and strong sense of identity, the DMV helped shape the bold energy and confidence that listeners hear throughout her music today.

Music was present in Bri3’s life long before she ever stepped into a recording studio. She began creating music at just five years old, inspired by the sounds that filled her home. Raised in a Black household where music was always playing, she grew up listening to legendary artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince, and Aretha Franklin. Their influence helped develop her appreciation for songwriting, performance, and artistic expression at an early age.

Just as important as the music itself was the support system around her. Bri3 speaks highly of her parents and uncles, who consistently encouraged her passion instead of discouraging it. Their belief in her talent gave her the confidence to continue pursuing music as she got older.

A major milestone came when she turned 17. For her birthday, Bri3 asked her mother for one thing—a professional studio session. During that session, she recorded her first official song. What seemed like a simple birthday gift quickly became the beginning of something much bigger.

The record began gaining attention on TikTok, where listeners connected with her sound and personality. The response was overwhelming and helped introduce her to a much larger audience. As more people discovered her music, record labels started paying attention.

One of the biggest moments of her early career happened unexpectedly. While sitting in a Chipotle, her phone suddenly exploded with notifications. Fans were messaging her to say that Rod Wave had shared her song on his Instagram story. The co-sign brought a new wave of attention and helped elevate her profile across the industry.

Despite the growing buzz, Bri3 wasn’t initially focused on getting signed. However, after three of her songs gained significant traction on TikTok, multiple labels began competing for the opportunity to work with her. What followed was an intense bidding war that highlighted just how much potential industry executives saw in the young artist.

In the end, Bri3 chose Atlantic Records. The decision came down to more than just business. She felt connected to the team and appreciated the support system they offered. Today, she describes Atlantic as a family environment, surrounded by a team that includes management, legal support, and people who genuinely believe in her vision.

In 2025, Bri3 reached another major career milestone with the release of her debut project, 18. The nine-track project introduced listeners to her artistry on a larger scale and featured a guest appearance from Nino Paid. Standout records including “Locally Famous,” “Off Me,” and “Blocked” showcased her versatility, confidence, and ability to connect with listeners through authentic storytelling.

Continuing her momentum, Bri3 recently released her latest single, “Whatever,” which is now available on all streaming platforms. The record serves as another step forward for an artist who continues to evolve while staying true to the confidence and authenticity that have defined her journey.
