Before finding his voice in music, Kapri’s story started Santa Ana, California. Growing up, he experienced both the highs and lows that came with his environment. Growing up he was outside getting into trouble, getting kicked out of school after a chain-snatching incident and spending time in juvenile hall.
Another part of his upbringing left a lasting impact. Much of his childhood was spent around his father’s car shop, a place that not only became part of his memories but would later inspire the visuals and locations used throughout his music videos, keeping his roots close to everything he creates.
Music entered Kapri’s life at an early age thanks to his older brother. Listening to legends like Tupac and Snoop Dogg on CDs through a Walkman introduced him to storytelling, authenticity, and the culture that would eventually influence his own style. While the inspiration started young, it wasn’t until high school that he wrote his first song—a diss track that unexpectedly sparked a passion for making music.
Kapri has been recording music for roughly five to seven years, but he says it was only within the last two to three years that he truly found confidence in his sound and began taking his career seriously. That growth led to one of the biggest moments in his journey with the release of “At The Rim,” a record he describes as a rebirth and the beginning of a new chapter in his career.
Since then, Kapri has continued building his catalog with records including “Mind Gone,” “Can’t C Me,” “Let Loose,” “Straight To Business,” and “Fumble,” showcasing his steady evolution as both a songwriter and performer.
Beyond the music, family remains the driving force behind everything he does. His desire to provide for the people he loves and honor those he has lost—especially his brother—continues to fuel his work, giving his music an emotional depth that connects with listeners.
Throughout his rise, Kapri has collaborated with artists including AZ Chike, MoneySign Suede, Fortwoe, Rucci, and others, expanding his reach while staying true to his sound.
Most recently, Kapri teamed up with Fortwoe for a collaborative eight-track project with no additional featured artists, allowing the chemistry between the two to take center stage. The project is available now on all major streaming platforms and marks another important step forward in Kapri’s growing career.
