Growing up in Miami, Florida, Reese Fletcher was surrounded by music long before he ever recorded his first song. Raised in the church and in a family full of musicians, music became a part of his everyday life. Nobody ever sat him down and taught him how to create. Instead, he learned by watching, listening, and trusting his natural ability. While music became his calling, dancing was his first love, giving him a strong sense of rhythm and performance that still shows in his artistry today.
The lessons he learned at home continue to guide him. His mother always told him, “Son, no matter what you learn, make it your own,” words that have stayed with him throughout his life. His father introduced him to DJing and constantly reminded him that one day he wanted to see his son on television. Those moments planted the confidence and ambition that would later fuel his music career.
Reese began making music at 15 years old. Before writing his own records, he would rap lyrics written by his brothers and cousins at school as if they were his own. Eventually, he realized it was time to create his own voice. To separate himself from everyone around him, he added singing to his skill set, giving his music a versatility that quickly became one of his biggest strengths.
Growing up, he found inspiration in artists like Chris Brown, OutKast, T.I., Omarion, Bow Wow, and Michael Jackson. As his sound developed, influences like T-Pain, Chris Brown, Tray G, Kwony Cash, K Camp, and Capella Grey helped shape the artist he is today. Reese describes his music as authentic, unique, and full of a wavy vibe—a style that blends melody with real-life experiences while staying true to himself.
Outside of the studio, much of his time growing up was spent with the dance groups he was a part of. Whether it was rehearsing routines or performing at shows, those experiences helped build the stage presence and confidence that now carries over into his music career.
Most of the music Reese has released has been recorded in his own home studio, where he’s been able to create freely and develop his sound on his own terms.
His latest release, “My Reason,” is one of his most personal records to date. The song is dedicated to everyone chasing a purpose, whether it’s for their family, their children, or simply to become a better version of themselves. Reese hopes the record motivates listeners to keep pushing forward and never lose sight of what drives them.
There’s even more on the way. Reese is preparing to release two projects this year. The first, “Lessons In Life,” is a rap-focused collaboration with California artist Dr. J. Later this year, he’ll follow it up with “Love Always,” a project centered around his singing. For Reese, this is the year of vulnerability, and he’s ready to let fans hear every side of who he is as an artist.
As he continues his journey, Reese never forgets the people who have helped him along the way. He gives thanks to God for blessing him with his gift, along with his team, Upgrade The Meaning, his wife, his children, his family, and everyone who has genuinely supported his career from the beginning.
