Before the music, there was a kid from Southridge in Fontana, California, with big dreams and an even bigger vision for his future. Raised in a two-parent household by high school sweethearts who both attended Crenshaw High School, Z4.Dnice grew up surrounded by love, structure, and strong family values. Sundays meant church, weekends were spent at his grandparents’ house in Los Angeles with family, and throughout the week he stayed active playing football and baseball. He also found himself modeling, acting, dancing with groups like TSA and BROS, throwing parties, and always looking for the next opportunity.
While many people around him were pulled toward gang life, Z4.Dnice chose a different lane, leaning on sports and music to stay focused, even though he admits he got into his fair share of trouble growing up. Through it all, he always carried a hustler’s mindset and dreamed of becoming a public figure who could make a real impact.
Music has always been part of his story. Long before he stepped into a recording booth, he was playing drums in church around the age of seven or eight, inspired by watching his father play drums and hearing his grandmother sing. By the time he was 12 or 13 years old, he was recording in a professional studio and beginning to take music seriously.
Growing up, his playlist was as diverse as his influences. Artists like Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Pretty Ricky, Jagged Edge, Nelly, and many others helped shape the sound he would eventually create for himself. Today, Z4.Dnice describes his music as melodic West Coast hip-hop blended with R&B emotion, relationship storytelling, and street authenticity. It’s a sound that reflects both his upbringing and his personal experiences.
Like many Southern California kids, his favorite hangout spots became part of his memories. During his younger years, you could find him at Scandia, Skate Express, Pharaoh’s Lost Kingdom, Castle Park, Bowlero, World on Wheels, or the Magic Johnson Theatre. As he got older, the nightlife became part of the journey, with places like Gotham City, Revolution, Main Event, Club Supreme, Velvet Room, Supper Club, and Penthouse LA becoming familiar spots.
These days, Z4.Dnice creates most of his music from the comfort of his own condo, where he built a personal recording studio. After recording, he sends his music out for professional mixing and mastering, giving him the freedom to stay creative while maintaining complete control over his sound.
His latest release, “Pretty & Paid,” continues to showcase his signature style, blending smooth melodies with honest storytelling and West Coast energy. Fans won’t have to wait long for more either, as he’s preparing to release new music with EastSide K-Boy on the remix to “Day Without You.”
As his career continues to grow, Z4.Dnice remains grounded in the people who helped him get here. He gives thanks to his manager, his family, his supporters, his friends, his community, and even himself for staying disciplined and holding himself accountable through every stage of the journey.
