For Big Game, music has always been part of his life. Long before he began creating his own records, he was a kid spending his time outdoors or listening to his father’s music. Raised by his mother and father alongside his two brothers, Big Game’s childhood was shaped by movement. His family moved from place to place, traveling from the West Coast to the East Coast before eventually making their way back to California.
With his father already connected to the music industry, creating music came naturally. But it was around the age of 13, shortly after his parents separated, that hip-hop truly became something personal for Big Game.
That was when he discovered A Tribe Called Quest.
The group immediately caught his attention. Their flow, wordplay and smooth production opened his ears to what hip-hop could really sound like. It wasn’t just something he wanted to listen to anymore. He wanted to freestyle. He wanted to rap. He wanted to contribute something of his own to the culture that had inspired him.
As Big Game grew older, his relationship with music continued to develop. He became more familiar with instruments, mixing and production, eventually learning how to create records from beginning to end. Today, he handles his own music from home, using an old Mac desktop running Logic Pro, along with a keyboard and drums.
His sound reflects the music that first caught his attention. Smooth, punchy and rooted in an old-school feel, Big Game creates music that stays connected to the foundation of hip-hop while still carrying his own identity.
Outside of music, Ventura, California has always been a major part of his story. Growing up, when he wasn’t making music, he could usually be found down by the beach or roaming the streets of Ventura. Those surroundings became part of his everyday life and helped shape the person and artist he is today.
Now, Big Game is stepping into a new chapter with his debut project, Big Game EP, released July 30, 2026. The project is completely handled by Big Game, with all lyrics, production and mixing done by him. It serves as an introduction to who he is as an artist and what he brings to the table.
There are also people behind the journey who Big Game carries with him. One of the biggest influences in his life is his grandmother, who passed away in October 2020. Her memory remains an important part of his story as he continues moving forward with his music.
