Growing up in Compton, LilGoatD3 learned about life, family, and the importance of getting it on his own at an early age. Raised around El Segundo Boulevard and 124th Street, his childhood was shaped by humble beginnings and a household where everyone had to make things work. At one point, he remembers having ten people living together in a two-bedroom house with his grandmother, mother, siblings, and uncles.
Those circumstances helped build his mindset. His mother taught him the importance of having a hustle and making his own money. From selling candy at Compton Plaza and other shopping centers to selling snacks and Kool-Aid at school, LilGoatD3 was finding ways to earn from a young age.
Through it all, his mother remained one of his biggest sources of inspiration. She worked multiple jobs to provide for him and his siblings, making sure they were taken care of despite the family’s financial struggles. The sacrifices she made became something LilGoatD3 would carry with him as he continued growing up.
He attended Mac Elementary, Willowbrook Middle School, and King Drew High School. Music was already a part of his life long before he knew where it could take him. LilGoatD3 started rapping at just 9 years old, and during his childhood he was also part of a group called the Fresh Kids alongside his cousins.
As he got older, music became more than something he enjoyed. During the summer between 8th and 9th grade, he began seriously investing his own money into his career. That same summer became a major turning point when he released “Pain” on SoundCloud. The record began gaining traction and gave him even more reason to take music seriously and pursue it full-time.
But his journey also came with moments that changed him personally. At 17, LilGoatD3 lost his close friend Domo. The loss had a major impact on his mental state and changed the way he moved. It taught him to be more cautious about who he trusted and how he carried himself.
Those experiences became part of his story and continue to influence the person and artist he is today. Through records like “Hold You Now,” “Sonny,” “Viral” featuring Jay Cinco, “Froze Up” featuring Jay Cinco, “GEEKER,” “Hermes,” and more, LilGoatD3 has continued building his catalog while staying connected to where he comes from.
Now, LilGoatD3 is continuing to push his sound forward with his latest single, “Woah,” currently available on all streaming platforms.
