Born and raised in Jackson, Michigan, Lyrical Reign found his way into music long before he fully understood the path it would take him on. Raised by a single mother who worked in acting and modeling, he grew up around rehearsals, performances, and creative environments that quietly shaped his confidence and stage presence from an early age.
By the time he reached high school, Reign was already making a name for himself around the city. He spent his time DJing, putting together mixtapes, and passing his music directly to classmates and people in the community. His dedication quickly turned into real momentum when he became part of a collaborative project that independently sold more than 50,000 copies across Michigan.
Knowing he needed a bigger stage to keep growing, Reign eventually made the move to Los Angeles. There, he stayed true to the independent grind — selling his music hand-to-hand, building relationships, and steadily developing his brand from the ground up. That hustle paid off with the release of his solo project The Reign’s World EP, which went on to sell over 100,000 copies independently.
But life would soon test him in ways far deeper than music.
After his mother suffered a life-threatening heart attack, Reign made it a priority to bring her out to Los Angeles so he could be close and support her. Years later, after a battle with cancer, she passed away in 2024 — a loss that deeply changed him both personally and creatively.
Instead of letting the pain break him, Reign chose to channel it into his music.
His latest release, I.R.M.F., represents a new chapter in his journey — one built on resilience, independence, and growth. With millions of views across social media and a steadily growing audience, Lyrical Reign continues to prove that authenticity and persistence still matter in today’s music industry.
