Born in Jamaica and migrating to the United States at a very young age, YeCart’s story begins with two different worlds shaping the person and artist he would eventually become. Growing up in the U.S., he carried the influence of his Jamaican roots with him while developing his own identity and perspective along the way.
By the age of 17, YeCart had started making music. What began as an interest would grow into a creative journey built around his experiences, influences, and desire to bring something different to the culture.
Growing up, YeCart found inspiration in some of Jamaica’s most influential voices, including Bounty Killer, Capleton, and the legendary Bob Marley. Their impact continues to influence him today, not only through their music but through the lasting legacy they created. For YeCart, those artists represent a foundation that still stands strong.
Now representing Miami, YeCart is focused on creating a sound that feels like the future while still respecting the influences that helped shape him. He describes his music as different, driven by inspiration, positivity, and the idea of building a movement rather than simply making songs.
That mindset carries into his creative process. YeCart has been working with upcoming producers as well as producers connected to bigger names and records, with the goal of creating music that can reach beyond his immediate surroundings. He believes the outcome is coming together in a way the world will appreciate.
Outside of music, YeCart is also preparing to expand his vision through fashion. He is the owner of the upcoming clothing brand ABABA CLOTHING, giving him another outlet to express his creativity and build something of his own.
His newest release, “Lifestyle,” is currently available on all major streaming platforms. The record gives listeners another look into the direction YeCart is taking as he continues developing his sound and building his catalog.
Next up is “Hand in Hand,” which YeCart says will be his next release. As he continues moving forward, he remains focused on creating music with purpose while bringing people together through his sound and vision.
