Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Daedae Santana comes from humble beginnings and a family that always found a way to make things work. Growing up in a one-parent household with one brother and one sister, life wasn’t always easy, but it wasn’t the hardest either. At one point, his entire family—including aunts, uncles, and cousins—shared the same apartment. Despite the challenges, they stayed together, creating memories and building a strong foundation that continues to inspire him today.
Daedae’s passion for music began around the age of 13 or 14 after watching his uncle on his father’s side freestyle and write raps. Inspired by what he saw, he started writing his own music, slowly developing a style that would eventually become his own.
Growing up, his playlist was filled with artists like Lloyd Banks, Juelz Santana, Stack Bundles, Dipset, Lil Wayne, and many of the legends from that era. Their influence helped shape his sound, but Daedae made sure to carve out his own lane. He describes his music as melodic and laid-back, creating records that listeners can truly feel. More recently, he’s been bringing more energy into his music while still staying true to that signature melodic vibe.
Over the years, Daedae recorded music at several studios throughout New York City, including Visionlanty, The Cutting Room, Umbrella Studios, and others. Today, he’s taken another step in his journey by recording from his own home studio while teaching himself how to mix and master his vocals, giving him even more creative control over his sound.
Outside of music, Daedae spent most of his younger years hanging around his neighborhood with childhood friends. After moving, he started exploring more of New York City, spending time downtown around 42nd Street and other spots throughout the Bronx. Once he decided to take music seriously, he began throwing his own house parties as a way to promote his music and build a local following.
His latest release, “Chances,” produced by Warhol.voo, is available now on all streaming platforms and continues to showcase his growth as an artist. Fans can also look forward to his upcoming single “Right Away” with his little brother Domo Da God, also produced by Warhol.voo, expected to arrive in late July or early August. Along with that release, Daedae is preparing to drop a new EP later this summer.
As his journey continues, Daedae Santana makes sure to recognize the people who have helped him along the way. He gives a special shout-out to KollectionFilms for consistently delivering quality visuals and grinding alongside him every step of the way. He also thanks producer Tie Stick, known for producing Papoose’s “Bucket Naked,” for his guidance and support, along with his brother Fetti for giving him a place to record during the early stages of his career. Above all, he credits his wife for everything she does behind the scenes, helping him stay focused and supporting the vision every step of the way.
