From The Church Choir To The Studio: T Hawk’s Journey

Born in Secaucus, New Jersey, and raised in Jersey City on the Hill off Armstrong Avenue, T Hawk grew up enjoying the simple things in life. Like many kids in her neighborhood, she spent her days riding bikes, swimming, bowling, and exploring the community she proudly calls home. Those early years helped shape her outgoing personality and laid the foundation for the artist she would later become.

Music entered T Hawk’s life at a very young age. At just five and six years old, she sang in the children’s choir at her grandfather’s church in Newark, New Jersey. The experience introduced her to performing and gave her an early appreciation for music’s ability to bring people together. As she got older, she continued developing her musical talents, playing drums during high school and eventually stepping into songwriting and recording.

At 17 years old, T Hawk began taking music seriously. By 18, she was writing songs and recording vocals, turning a lifelong passion into a creative journey. Inspired by artists such as Kool & The Gang, Lady of Rage, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Digital Underground, Kid ’N Play, and Full Force, she developed a sound that reflects both old-school influence and her own unique style.

Today, T Hawk describes her music as a blend of high-energy tempos, mellow soothing vibes, R&B influences, and dance-ready records. Her versatility allows her to create music for different moods while maintaining an authentic sound that represents who she is as an artist.

Throughout her career, T Hawk has continued to sharpen her craft in the studio. For the past three years, she has recorded with Ghost Studio alongside engineer and CEO Ghost. She has also recorded at the legendary Quad Studios and Sound Studios, where she collaborated with her first engineer, Nick Majors, also known as @nickmajormusic of the band Empty Vessel.

Away from music, many of T Hawk’s favorite memories were created around some of Jersey City’s most recognizable spots. Whether spending time along the waterfront downtown, bowling at Hudson Lanes, visiting Cherry’s Lounge on the Hill, shopping at Newport Mall, or relaxing at Liberty State Park, these places remain an important part of her story and upbringing.

T Hawk’s latest release, “So In Love,” features Philadelphia gospel singer Lamar Bryan. The record showcases another side of her artistry while bringing together powerful vocals and meaningful emotion. Looking ahead, she has no plans of slowing down. With more singles and a full album planned before the end of 2026, fans can also look forward to her upcoming single, “GODs Unmatched.”

Through every chapter of her journey, T Hawk remains grounded in faith and gratitude. She gives all praise to GOD and Jesus Christ for guiding her throughout her life. She also honors the memory of her grandmother, Geraldine Accor, thanks her mother Miranda, and shows love to her supporters, mentors, teachers, friends, family, associates, critics, and fans who have all played a role in her journey. As she continues moving forward, T Hawk remains focused on creating music that inspires, uplifts, and connects with listeners everywhere.
