Missouri artist Honestav’s story is built on survival, self-awareness, and turning pain into something people can relate to. Before the streams, viral moments, and growing fanbase, he was just a kid trying to make sense of the environment around him. Growing up in a crowded household with nearly 10 to 15 people under one roof, life moved fast and rarely felt stable. Drugs, poverty, and violence were part of his reality from an early age, forcing him to mature quicker than most.
Even through the chaos, Honestav found support in the people closest to him. His stepmother played a major role in helping raise him and bringing stability into his life when things felt uncertain. He was also heavily influenced by his older siblings, who helped shape the person he would become. Outside of home, some of his best memories came from simple moments — being outside with friends, staying active, and playing basketball as a way to escape everything happening around him.
Music entered his life naturally. As a kid, he would hear his older brothers upstairs making music and playing in their band, and that exposure planted the seed early. Watching creativity happen in real time inspired him to try it for himself. By just 15 years old, Honestav released his first single and began taking music seriously.
Like many artists finding their identity, the early years came with experimentation. He released hundreds of songs while trying to discover his sound and understand what truly connected with people. That journey eventually led him to shift his style and create one of his earliest viral records, “I’d Rather Overdose,” a song that helped introduce his raw honesty and emotional storytelling to a much larger audience.
As his music and online presence continued growing, Honestav began making money through TikTok, internet content, and streaming. That success gave him the opportunity to leave behind the things he no longer wanted tied to his life and fully focus on music. Instead of creating a character, he leaned further into being himself — something fans quickly connected with.
Part of what separates Honestav from many artists is his willingness to show every side of himself. Whether he’s making emotional records, joking around online, or connecting directly with supporters, he never comes across as manufactured. His humor, honesty, and openness helped him build a loyal fanbase that relates to him beyond just the music.
Throughout his rise, he continued building his catalog with records like “Stuck On The Floor,” “FKN Hate You,” “Growin’ Pains,” “Believe,” “Both Dead,” “Cool Kids,” “Hurts To Fall In Love,” and “Freckles.” Each release added another layer to his story, showing both the struggles and growth behind the artist.
Now, Honestav continues pushing forward with his latest EP, Bad Guy, a three-track project featuring JaYy Wick. The release keeps his momentum going while staying true to the honesty and emotion that helped him stand out in the first place. From a crowded house in Missouri to building a name across the internet, Honestav’s journey reflects resilience, self-expression, and the power of staying authentic through every stage of life.
