From the opening record, “Better – Acoustic,” Nana Elan sets the tone. With a soft tone, an amazing voice, and confident delivery, she continues to prove why she’s one of the most talented up-and-coming artists on the West Coast.
You can hear how much time and effort she puts into her music. She’s creating records with feeling, substance, and the potential to stand the test of time. Track number two, “Recipe,” is a standout record, pouring energy and emotion into a song that pulls you in.
Track number three, “Narcissistic Soul,” speaks for itself. Touching on the revolving door of women being mistreated by men, she opens with the line, “Seems like we done been here before.” It’s a relatable record that listeners can connect with, especially those who’ve experienced similar situations.
Closing out the project, “Red Cup” showcases Nana Elan’s versatility and ability to bring something different to the table.
All in all, Love Drain is a solid body of work from an artist who deserves more attention. Nana Elan is a true homegrown hidden gem out of Long Beach and definitely an artist to keep your eyes on.
