Raised primarily in Fontana, Micah Millz grew up in an environment that was anything but calm. Coming from a chaotic household with five siblings, life moved fast early on. At just six years old, he moved to Fontana to live with his nana, and through all the noise and instability surrounding him, music slowly became his escape. It was more than entertainment. It became a way to process emotions, clear his mind, and survive the pressure of everyday life.
Music was already running through his family before he ever stepped into a studio. His father was a local rapper from Pomona, while his mother sang in the church choir. Coming from Louisiana roots, she brought soul and emotion into the household, helping shape the musical influences that would later define Micah Millz’s sound. Between West Coast rap, church vocals, and Southern soul, he grew up surrounded by different forms of expression without fully realizing how much they were shaping him.
As a kid, he spent a lot of time outside the house at swap meets and malls throughout the Inland Empire. It was less about shopping and more about community. Those spots became social hubs where memories were made, friendships were built, and the culture around him came alive. Growing up in the IE during that era helped shape the grounded and relatable energy that now comes through in his music.
By the time he turned 18, Micah Millz recorded his first song in a friend’s garage. What started as curiosity quickly turned into something more serious. The more he recorded and shared his music, the more encouragement he received from people around him. That support slowly built his confidence and pushed him to continue sharpening his craft.
Like many artists coming up during that generation, he was heavily inspired by the Young Money Entertainment era. Artists like Drake and Lloyd helped influence his melodic approach, while California artists and the local music scene added their own flavor to his sound. Over time, Micah developed a style he describes as “Cali R&B with a hint of Southern soul,” blending smooth melodies with emotional honesty and West Coast energy.
Today, he continues recording across different studios throughout Los Angeles, evolving both his sound and his confidence as an artist. His latest project, Vice & Addiction, gives listeners a deeper look into his mindset, emotions, and personal experiences. The EP reflects both the struggles and growth that come with navigating life, relationships, and ambition while staying true to yourself.
