Emerging from Lufkin, Texas, K8DDO is an artist bringing a raw and authentic sound to the music scene. With influences rooted in Southern hip-hop and a sound he describes as trap soul, he continues to build his identity through music that reflects his style and perspective.
K8DDO spent his early childhood in a small town where there wasn’t much to do besides get outside and find ways to stay entertained. Around the age of five, he moved to Houston, where he would grow up and develop the experiences that helped shape him.
Music was always something he gravitated toward, even as a child. By the age of 12 or 13, that interest turned into something more when he officially began making music. What started as an early attraction to the art became an opportunity to express himself and develop his own sound.
Growing up, K8DDO listened to artists such as T.I., Drake, and Z-Ro. Their different approaches to music helped shape his musical ear, while his own experiences continued to influence the direction he wanted to take. Today, he describes his sound as raw, real, and rooted in trap soul, bringing an authentic feel to his music.
Outside of music, East Houston was a major part of his upbringing. Greenwood Park, Skate Machine, and City Crossing Pool were among the spots where he spent time growing up. Those places were part of the environment that shaped his early years and contributed to the experiences behind his journey.
Now, K8DDO is continuing to push forward with new music. His latest release, “Move On,” gives listeners another opportunity to tap into his sound. He also has a new single on the way titled “Where Yo H*e At,” which he describes as a must-listen.
As he continues working toward the next level, K8DDO remains grateful for the people who have supported him along the way. He gives thanks to God for carrying him through life’s challenges, his family for standing by his side, and his team for believing in him and helping put him in the best position to succeed.
