Building Artists From the Ground Up: The Story of Chicago Rob Auston

Chicago Rob Auston, the dynamic President of A&R for The Goat Farm Music Group, is a true force bridging the creative worlds of Chicago and Atlanta. With a deep passion for artist development and a sharp ear for talent, Rob has built a reputation for taking a project from conception all the way to the record deal.

Currently, Rob manages Carivi Reed (@ca_kgmg), a rising rapper making waves in the scene, and Kewon (@kewonentertainz), a fast-rising comedian known for his energetic performances. His hands-on approach and industry insight have made him a trusted name among both emerging and established artists.

Rob’s journey began as a rapper, but his career quickly evolved when he was introduced to the business side of the music industry. He got his start doing retail and distribution with Face2Face M.E.G, working under Tara Garrett on projects involving Boyz n Da Hood, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, and Bobby V. His writing talents soon led him to collaborate with Jarvis on the hit single “Radio.”

From there, Rob took on an A&R role with Dirt Road Music before transitioning into artist management. He went on to develop The Boy Scout Boys, who worked with Bolo the Producer—later known for selling over 11 million records with Silento’s viral hit “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae).”

By 2012, Rob expanded his reach as a media consultant, collaborating with major names like The East Side Boyz (post-Lil Jon) on new music that he both wrote and produced.

With a career built on hustle, authenticity, and a deep love for the craft, Chicago Rob Auston continues to shape the next generation of artists—proving that from the streets of Chicago to the studios of ATL, greatness starts with vision and grind.
