Born in Harlem, New York in 1994, Dos Sinatra grew up in a strong family of five siblings, raised by a strong Black woman who taught him one of the most important lessons he still carries today: never give up on your goals, no matter how hard life gets.
Music was around him from the beginning. He grew up surrounded by people who made music and others who expressed themselves through poetry. At first, Dos wasn’t even thinking about becoming an artist. That changed as he began discovering music through shows like 106 & Park and Music Choice On Demand. His older brother also played a major role, introducing him to music and exposing him to his own flow and storytelling.
Those early influences started opening something up in Dos.
During his high school years, he joined the poetry club. He admits he wasn’t the best at it, and at 15, he didn’t even know how to rhyme. What he did know was how to express himself through deep words and honest emotion. That ability to put his thoughts on paper would eventually become the foundation for his music.
Dos officially started making music at 21. His first studio track came through a collaboration with his brother Shawn, also known as Suavy. Together, they recorded a song called “Lately” and uploaded it to SoundCloud. The record went on to reach 500 plays in one week.
For Dos, that number meant more than just plays. It was motivation.
From there, he continued recording and released songs like “Day Ones,” “Don’t” and “Don’t Stop Me.” The response was more positive than negative, giving him the confidence to keep pushing. Somewhere along the way, Dos Sinatra was born.
At that point, it wasn’t about fame or making money. It was about making music, improving his craft and seeing how far he could take it.
His journey continued through the mixtape era, with projects released through platforms like DatPiff and Spinrilla, including This Is Only The Beginning, College Boy and Appreciate It Now While You Can. Over time, that growth led to albums such as Just 4 The Moment, Untold Stories 1, 2 & 3 and Survivor of the Jungle.
Looking back, Dos can see just how much has changed since those early recordings.
His inspiration comes from a wide range of artists and albums that helped shape his musical taste. Kanye West’s The College Dropout, T-Pain’s Epiphany, Drake’s So Far Gone, Jamie Foxx’s Intuition and T.I.’s King are among the projects that left an impression on him.
Still, Dos Sinatra has never wanted to sound like everybody else.
He describes his own sound as smooth and calm, with something different at its core. His creative process is just as personal. When it’s time to make music, Dos needs darkness and quietness around him. That environment allows him to lock in, clear everything else out and let his creative side flow.
Harlem remains an important part of that story. Growing up, Dos spent time on both the East and West sides of Harlem, experiencing the city and the environment that helped shape who he became.
Now, he’s entering another chapter.
His latest single, “How We Win,” gives listeners another look at where Dos Sinatra is today, while more music is already on the way. His upcoming sequel album, Something 4 Now, is scheduled for 2027 and will continue the story started with Just 4 The Moment.
Through every stage of his journey, Dos has remained focused on growth. From a teenager who couldn’t rhyme but knew how to express himself, to an artist who has built a catalog of music over the years, his story has always been about becoming better.
And he’s quick to recognize the people who helped him along the way. Dos gives a special shoutout to everyone he has collaborated with and everyone who has offered advice throughout his musical journey.
