Originally from Maplewood, New Jersey and now based in Brooklyn, New York, Ryisfly is building a name for himself through emotional storytelling, atmospheric production, and honest self-expression. His music blends high-energy electronic sounds with deeply personal experiences, creating records that feel immersive while still carrying a raw emotional core.
Growing up as the youngest of four siblings, Ryisfly was surrounded by strong personalities and constant energy inside his household. With two older brothers and an older sister, he naturally became more observant, learning how to navigate the world by listening closely and finding his own voice. That role would later shape the introspective style that defines much of his music today.
His childhood, however, was not always easy. Ryisfly struggled with social anxiety from a young age and often felt disconnected from traditional environments, especially in school. While those experiences sometimes made him feel isolated, they also pushed him toward creativity. Music became more than just entertainment — it became a safe space where he could process emotions and communicate feelings that were difficult to express out loud.
Even through those challenges, he maintained close friendships growing up in Maplewood. Most of his time was spent at friends’ houses, nearby parks, sleepovers, or simply hanging around familiar places with the same close-knit circle. For him, it was never really about flashy locations or scenes. It was about comfort, connection, and having people around who understood him.
Music had always been part of his life. Long before releasing projects, he was involved in musical theatre, choir, band, and other artistic activities as a kid. Around the age of 15, he started DJing, which eventually led him into music production during high school. At first, creating music was simply a hobby, but everything changed during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Like many artists, isolation gave him time to focus inward. Ryisfly began writing and producing songs from his bedroom, spending countless hours experimenting with sounds, melodies, and production techniques. He openly admits those early records were rough, but the process helped shape him into the artist he is today. After years of practice and constant growth, he slowly developed a sound that felt authentic to him.
His influences reflect both his love for performance and production. Growing up, he was heavily inspired by Michael Jackson, admiring not only the music but the complete artistry behind it — the performances, visuals, movement, and creativity. Later, artists from the golden era of 2010s EDM such as Martin Garrix, Zedd, and Avicii inspired his passion for electronic production and melodic songwriting. More recently, artists like BUNT., It’s Murph, and Daniel Allan have continued to influence the evolution of his sound.
That sound is difficult to place into one category. Ryisfly describes it as emotional electronic music that balances energy with introspection. His records are built around cinematic melodies, atmospheric textures, and storytelling. Rather than simply making songs for listeners to hear, he creates music that feels like stepping into a memory or a moment in time.
One of the best examples of that approach is his previous album, Immersion, a project inspired by his study abroad experience. Each song was named after places he visited, with the goal of recreating those emotions and environments through sound. The project highlighted his ability to turn personal experiences into immersive listening experiences.
Throughout his career so far, Ryisfly has recorded music in several different places tied to different stages of his life. His first project, Permanent Relief, was created largely in his dorm room at Elon University and later while spending a summer in Los Angeles during an internship. His second project, Immersion, was crafted between his apartment and school studios, where he completed everything from production to mixing and mastering in only a few months. Most recently, his newest album ENIGMA was recorded across Brooklyn studios, including sessions at Pirate Studios and creative spaces throughout Bushwick.
Now with ENIGMA officially released, Ryisfly continues to dive deeper into personal storytelling and introspection through music. He describes the album as one of his most vulnerable projects yet, with every track carrying its own emotional weight and meaning.
While his sound continues to evolve, one thing has remained consistent: honesty. Every project reflects different chapters of his life, from anxiety and self-discovery to growth and creative freedom. That openness is what makes Ryisfly stand out in today’s electronic music landscape.
As he continues building momentum, he remains grateful for the people who helped him along the way. He credits his family and close friends as his biggest supporters, while also honoring his late grandfather, a classically trained pianist who passed away in early 2025. Ryisfly says his grandfather played a major role in shaping the way he hears and understands music. He also gives credit to the teachers and mentors throughout high school and college who pushed him to grow into the artist he is becoming today.
With ENIGMA now out and more music on the horizon, Ryisfly is proving that vulnerability, storytelling, and emotion still have a place at the center of electronic music.
